Dr. Thomas R Easterling, MD

Dr. Easterling is the reason I was able to deliver a healthy baby. I came to him to help me with a previous severe preeclampsia that I barely survived, but unfortunately not the baby (stillborn at 25 weeks). He helped me get rid of the effects and get in optimum health to try again. I don't don't how I ever agree, but thinking back I think it was feeling like under his care I was going to be OK. He also had to reassure my husband that I was going to be OK. I had a tons of complications with my second pregnancy - anywhere from a big subchronic hematoma that made me bleed for almost the whole pregnancy to obviously high BP and preeclampsia. Needless to say, with his help I was able to deliver a healthy baby girl at 35 weeks - as long as he went with me because of my high blood pressure. We claimed victory (as he said!). He is extremely knowledgeable about pregnancy complications and my experience was wonderful. The only thing is that sometimes you have to wait a bit for your appointment.… He is sometimes busy with difficult cases. But that's a small price to pay to get the best! I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

I'm only giving him two stars because his staff was very friendly and courteous. As for Dr. Easterling I felt as if I had no say in my treatment at all. I asked a question about medication he was trying to put me on and I felt very dismissed and not informed. I went home and researched the medication myself and on several different web sites it says to not take while pregnant. I am not pleased with my treatment to say the least.

I have waited a few years to write this review. I think while I was pregnant I really was not a fan of his bedside manner. He is a bit gruf and at times not open to patients thoughts and opinions. But I will say this he is amazing at what he does and whether he shows it or not he is 1000% loyal and would do anything for his patients. I would have rather had some grufness than the sweet midwives I have the first time who were much less alert to my high b.p and I then delivered a preemie. Trust me dealing with a little grufness is worth avoiding this. he is the best and he will be loyal and interested in you for life.

Dr. Easterling is the best doctor ever. With the many medical complications that I have, he dealt with all of them honestly and head on, and I never felt like I was hopeless or fighting this alone. You will never find anyone as knowledgeable as he is, nor compassionate. His honesty is welcome. I don't like sugar coating and then being surprised. He showed me the whole picture and how we were going to deal with it. Recommend him to every mom to be out there.

I love Dr. Easterling. He took excellent care of me during my high risk pregnancy. I had high blood pressure going into the pregnancy and he was such a master in dealing with it that I got off the meds for a while during the pregnancy. I also had gestational diabetes and he was professional and personal in dealing with this. I was very upset by the diagnosis and he was so kind and listened to all my concerns. He spent as much time as I needed and went out of his was to be there to deliver my baby. All of this attention is the reason that you might have to wait a long time for your appointment. It's a balance you have to be willing to make. My opinion is that he's 100% worth it! Excellent doctor.

I'm still under his care and despite the hospital staff's reassurance that he is the best at what he does, His attitude towards his patients leaves you wanting to physically punch him. He's talking to mostly pregnant women, whom can be emotional, fragile, and frightened. Yet his mannerisms lack thoughtfulness, compassion, or empathy. I don't want things sugar-coated but I'd like to at least believe that my health and my baby's health which mean so much to me and my family, also mean something to him. He acts as if he could care less if you live or die.

Horrible bedside manner! Could have mistaken him for a bill collector.

Dr. Easterling is a well known maternal-fetal Doctor. He knows his business, but his bedside manner during a delicate and emotional procedure was horrible. He got impatient with me especially when I felt I could not longer endure the procedure due to the pain. He huffed and told me to stop moving. He offered zero compassion. I found out during a follow up at Swedish, that medication for pain is used there, so why not at U.W. from Dr. Easterling?! He is impatient, does not explain procedures well and ran 90 minutes behind schedule for our initial appt. We were told, after driving 1 hr for our appt, to leave and get lunch, then return. We did that, then had to wait longer. He came in the room with a med student and offered no apologies for his tardiness. He is a bit arrogant.

I was referred to Dr. Easterling after a traumatic 1st pregnancy, in which I survived severe preeclampsia. He readily diagnosed me, explained my health issues and treatment both in scientific terms and in layman's terms, and worked with me for a few years to ready for another pregnancy. He and his team are the utmost professionals, and although I was scared every day of pregnancy, I and my family knew, that under this consultation and care, I would survive again and with a healthy baby. We are forever grateful for him.
