Dr. Thomas B Flanagan

I believe he is anxious toward his retirement, first time in my 35yrs that he was rather rude and dismissive and not sympathetic to my concerns , not his normal self. He has never been nice to my wife who would not have him as her doctor. I will be changing my primary dr after my next visit. I have been extremely confident with him for so many years. I am 85 yes old and will miss him.

Literally the rudest doctor I have EVER spoken to. My wife said the same, and she works in the medical field. He is not my doctor, but was the doctor on call yesterday and today while i was on vacation and having breathing problems. I won't get into the long situation, but when he told me if I was having trouble breathing to go to the ER and get a breathing treatment. I wanted to be sure, cuz I have an HMO and need the doctor's permission for ER visits like that. He was already pretty rude, but he now started berating me and asking me questions and then talking over me when I tried to answer him. He then said, "Great, we're on the same page, goodbye." Could not have been a bigger jerk. Maybe it's time for someone to retire...

I would echo many of the other comments on here. Dr. Flanagan is rude, dismissive, and I would not recommend him to anyone

Talks down to his patients. Rude, no bedside manner. Would not recommend him to anyone.

good advice and care and I appreciated his sense of humor

Horrible "doctor". Awful, terrible bedside manner (none), dismissive, condescending. I took my 80 year old mother to his office and he never touched her, only "listened" to her heart at the end of the visit (pretending) - but the stethoscope was not touching her skin, and dismissed her swollen legs. Never returned visiting home nurse phone calls. Switched physicians and she is taking better, adequate medications and now legs normal.

I have seen Dr. Flanagan for 25 years. He is an excellent diagnostician. I am in the healthcare field and know one when I see one. He is a no nonsense kind of guy, but does have a sense of humor. He doesn't hold your hand and tell you want to hear, but he will given you his best advice. Don't expect to be his friend if you don't want to follow his good medical advice. In other words, he doesn't always tell you may want to hear but he does have your best interests at heart. Trust me on that one. I would rather see someone who tells me the truth and helps me to be my best, healthy self.

He needs to retire.

I've been seeing Dr. Flanagan for 28 years. Reading the negative review of him is really over the top. He merely has a dry sense of humor (which you rarely if ever see) and is a no nonsense man. I can see that his bedside manner could upset some and that he could spend more time with patients but he knows his stuff and I trust him. He tells you the way it is and is an excellent doctor. If you're looking for a doctor to tell you what you want to hear, Dr. F's not your man.

Dr. Flanagan has been my primary care doctor for more than 24 years. He's seen me through many illnesses, surgeries, and life obstacles with great care, compassion and medical skill. He takes me seriously, listens to me, gently offers advice, he is sensitive and wonderful to work with.I have friends who see him too and share this high regard. I try to be prepared for my visits, prompt and follow his advice. It's just common courtesy for him and all of his other patients. He is protective of us all and exceptionally fair and reasonable. He's the best, as far as I'm concerned.
