Is the very best Dr. One could wish for.

It takes a lot for me to write a review – let alone a bad one. But I feel compelled to share my terrible visit with Dr. Greenlee. If you don’t mind an arrogant doctor who will talk over you the entire time and never let you speak, and speak to you condescendingly – then he is the doctor for you! I’ve seen MANY doctors with not so good bedside manor – and I’m okay with that. Some of the most brilliant doctors are a little “different” when it comes to communicating with their patients. However, I’ve never been treated so badly as I was with him….EVER! I went in for a consult for hernia repair and right out the gate he was pushing so hard for me to do bariatric surgery (as he is also a bariatric surgeon). It was almost as if he was a car salesman for his other bariatric practice. I believe his tactic was to scare me so badly that I would agree to do bariatric – which I did not. I needed the hernia repair so badly as I was having emergency type complications from it and in the… same breath that he said it was an urgent surgery – he asks me “Do you really want to do this?”. I thought to myself – I’ve been in the ER for bowel obstruction/strangulation – I don’t have a choice here genius! I am overweight – so I realize that makes ANY surgery more difficult, I’m not stupid. However, he basically fat shamed me the entire time – not willing to listen to the fact that I barely eat anything at all and what I do eat/drink is super healthy or that I’m currently being tested for a rare disease called Cushings in which makes it impossible to lose weight. He wouldn’t shut his arrogant mouth long enough for me to get any of that information out. At one point when he was talking over top of me, I looked at the wall until he stopped talking because I was so frustrated and then looked back at him – but it went right over his head – it didn’t even register with him that I was frustrated. I also tried to hand him my operative report from a previous abdominal laparoscopy (which most reputable surgeons make you send them before they will even see you) and he didn’t even want to look at it!! His exact words were “That just means you are a good candidate for laparoscopy”. That was a HUGE RED FLAG!! He basically said that because of my BMI – it wasn’t a matter of if I would have complications after the hernia repair but when. I cried the whole way home that day – he made me feel so terrible and made my situation seem so bleak. I have since then gotten a second opinion (THANK GOD) from a well-respected surgeon who was disheartened and pretty much disgusted to hear the things Dr. Greenlee said to me. He said it’s as if Dr. Greenlee stretched the truth so far and so badly in an effort to scare me into bariatric surgery – just as I had thought! I wouldn’t even send my dog to this narcissist!

Dr Greenlee is very compassionate doctor and very professional. He also seems to be experienced and very intelligent. I would highly recommend him.

DR.GREENLEE OPERATED ON MY 3 YEARS AGO WHEN I HAD A DIVERTICULITIS ATTACK. HE SAVED MY LIFE. I'LL NEVER FORGET HIM.

I had hernia surgery by Dr. Greenlee in the stomach area and now I look like a basketball hanging out of me. Went back and said it was a fat pocket and should go away with weight loss, think he did'nt like me coming back thinking I thought he may have did something wrong. well it just gets bigger and looks deformed. Been wanting to go have an other opinion but who. I really did not dislike this Dr. Just want my stomach back to normal. My family Dr. said they would have to cut me open to try and fix it and called what type of procedure it was almost more of a cosmetic surgery and it would not be an easy one so I'm just hanging in there trying to deal with.

He didn't give me or my condition any consideration. Extremely uncaring.

Overall, I felt that Dr. Greenlee did a good job in my surgery, although I am sure that he felt there was more going on than what he found. I can say that his partner let me suffer for at least 24 hours before Dr. Greenlee came in the next day and ordered an additional pain medication (not controlled substance) which completely took care of the pain issue. However, I still suffer today and have no formal diagnosis, although almost every doctor I see suspects cancer. I have two new lesions with similar pathology to the initial one, which I had to undergo an antrectomy for and continue to deteriorate, although I am sure everyone is sick of hearing about, including me.
