Dr. Thomas Heffron, MD, FACS

Dr. Hefron has a highly developed intuitive sense of how the body functions and interacts with other organs and system. He quickly identified my problems with pain and difficulty breathing from the size and location of my liver cysts. I felt better immediately after the surgery than I did the months proceeding it. I can't thank him enough. His assistant Alex was accessible, kind and helpful. The entire staff at Porter Hospital were wonderful, responsive and comforting. I highly recommend Dr. Hefron and his team.

Dr. Heffron is simply amazing. You may have to wait a bit in his office as sometimes he is in the OR or doing hospital rounds but he's worth the wait. He has such a passion for medicine and is really compassionate and empathetic. He is a phenomenal surgeon and a wonderful person.

Dr. Heffron is simply amazing. Exceedingly skilled, he possesses an extremely calming, reassuring nature and is very pleasant to talk to. As of 5-23-15, I'm still under his care. I had major hepatobiliary surgery about a month ago & in that time, Dr. Heffron & his office have been very accommodating and understanding during my recovery. He's a very, very nice doctor with an obvious passion for medicine.

I would like to tell you about the results of my surgery, but there were none, because he did not show up. He was to do my surgery with another surgeon at the same time, but while I was at the hospital with an IV, ready to go, he tells the first surgeon that he cannot make it. In our office visit beforehand with him, he told my husband and myself that he would have someone else in his practice do it if he were unavailable. He also told us that he would trust anyone in his practice to do such a procedure on him. However, when questioned by my husband, he denied saying all this in his office. He may be a fine doctor technically, but I never got the chance to find out. My guess is he forgot to ask for back-up from a fellow doctor and was stuck. But my husband and I know what we heard him say in the office visit before surgery.

I was so pleased with the way Dr. Heffron handled the surgery to remove a mass on my pancreas. This is a very difficult procedure to do and to recover from but he was great! Even all the nurses said he would be the one they wanted to do this procedure if they needed it! High praise.

Dr. Heffron provided exceptional surgical care, from the first visit through followup. My presenting issues posed a somewhat complex surgical challenge which he addressed in detail, prepared me for, and performed with exceptional skill. His level of professional competence is complemented by a personable and caring approach to patient care.

The most incrediable and amazing person, man and by far the most (in my opinion) best in his field!!!!!thank you to him I am truely grateful!!!!

This Doctor is fabulous. He spends time with his patient, our daughter and family-us, he is easy to approach, very caring and personal, explains things so we don't feel in the dark on what to expect. We would highly recommend this surgeon. He is very wise and excellent at what he does. He did a liver transplant on our daughter when she was 8, in 1997. She is now 21 and going strong.
