Dr. Thomas Francis Hughes, MD

I was a patient of Dr. Hughes for the last 25 years.. He was always very good. Sad to say he suddenly stopped seeing his patients according to his office staff. That being said you had to schedule appointment with the PA. I usually don't have an issue with that since the doctor is usually available for consult. After my last physical I requested that the nurse check with the doctor as to a issue I was having with my meds. The PA dismissed my concerns and condescendingly told me they were fine. (thyroid meds) so I asked the nurse to check with Dr. Hughes. Needless to say the PA called me back & apologized for the fact that "I didn't trust her". That was very unprofessional. Needless to say I switched practices and found that I was correct. On way too much medicine and I am feeling much better now. I wish I knew if Dr. Hughes knew what was going on in his office because I truly believe he wouldn't want his patients treated that way. He always listened.

Great staff and great doctor

Could actions of the office staff be reflections of the bosses attitude? Hmmmm.

Dr Hughes is caring and yet goads me into healthy habits.

Terrible Doctor !! Rude Staff !! You wait forever to be seen !!! Then he spends only a few minutes with you . Does not seem to care about any of your health problems . Does not address any of your concerns. Look for another Doctor please !!

I have been a patient of Dr. Hughes for a very long time and not once have had a discrepancy that would ever deter me from leaving his office. As soon as you hit Main street you get that warm feeling that extends into Dr. Hughes's Office. When you walk in you are greeted by personally the nicest receptionists. When Dr. Hughes comes into the room he knows you by name, always has a smile on his face, and treats you with the up most respect any doctor could give. One thing is that I am always heard, if I call with any concerns it is handled within 24hrs always. I would not choose any other physician to be my primary doctor, very pleased with Dr. Thomas Hughes III, the Nurse, and wonderful staff.

This doctor has no follow through and is unable to diagnosis accurately. Not to mention his staff dresses is if they are at the beach or a playground. I would never refer Thomas Hughes to my worst enemy.

My family and I have been going to Doctor Hughes for years. We are now switching Doctors because the only people that I have met that are more rude and unprofessional than Doctor Hughes is his receptionist staff. They have no interest in helping anyone but they love to take your money. If you chose to go to Doctor Hughes pay close attention to your bill and your insurance because I was charged on multiple occasions for procedures that I never had done. I have never met more unpleasant people in my life, I really hope karma catches up to them.

From the moment you walk into the office you are greeted by the most unprofessional, rude, discourteous staff in the Buffalo area. The nurse practitioner is beyond disrespectful! Be prepared to wait over an hour to see the doctor. Not only do you wait about 45+ minutes to enter the examination room but then you have to wait another 45 minutes for the doctor to come in and see you. The waiting room is usually empty or has a patient waiting so I don't understand why the wait time is so long. Additionally, Hughes is dishonest as he schedules appointments and even though you cancel them BEFORE leaving his office he still charges you for missed office appointments. How is that fair? Business must really be slow if you go after your patients for a "missed" office appointment that was never missed in the first place. Think twice, and maybe three times, before seeing this so-called doctor.

Office personnel and follow up is poor.
