Thomas A. Hurd graduated from Creighton University School of Dentistry (Omaha, Nebraska) following his undergraduate years at UCLA. He returned to his native California to establish a dental practice in Lompoc in November 1977. He has spent decades in study clubs devoted to periodontics and more recently Invisalign orthodontics.
Dr. Hurd is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Santa Barbara Ventura County Dental Society and Lompoc Academy of Dentists. He is a guest teacher to elementary and middle schools regarding dental health and also volunteers at the elementary level providing dental screenings. He helps support the high schools’ many sports, fine arts, and extracurricular programs. Further, he is a member of the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce and EAA and has been a private pilot since 1981. He is currently building an airplane and restoring another older airplane in his hangar.
His five children were raised and educated in the …Lompoc Valley. He is a hands-on dad teaching sons and daughters alike how to build things, as well as share his love of dentistry.
