Dr. Thomas Jenkins, MD

Dr. Jenkins is quite happy to toot his horn about his abilities as a maternal specialist but he lacks insight into the human emotional venue. After claiming that the procedure he was about to do was going to be quite difficult (and not necessarily necessary), he should have read the absolute apprehension on the patient's face (mine) and in her words (asking questions and being cut off by his overly confident terseness) and told her to maybe go home and think about it further and if need be, to reschedule the appointment for a later date...just to put the patient's mind at ease with the all-too-quick decision forced upon me. Instead, he shoved a consent sheet and pen in her face and made the environment feel hurried. As a nervous patient, I should have trusted my gut but, instead, listened to the arrogance of the "specialist" and went through with the procedure. Needless to say, the procedure ended poorly with me bleeding constantly for over two weeks and eventually losing the baby.… All of the tests that had been run showed that the baby had been healthy, the mother had been healthy, and that there was no apparent reason for the miscarriage other than a botched procedure by Dr. Jenkins. Beware and ask questions...lots of questions!
