Dr. Thomas Adam Kaspar, MD

This guy is a total crook. He bills you, insurance, and the county for services he never provided.

Dr. Kaspar and his staff have kept me alive for many years. I was diagnosed with HIV in 2005, and have seen Kaspar regularly since 2008. They're very competent and friendly, I've grown to feel that Kaspar and his staff are my friends.

Thomas Adam Kaspar, MD, is now the medical director of AHF Hermann Healthcare Center at 1213 Hermann Drive, Suite 620, Houston, TX 77004. He and his nurse, Xiomara Ortiz, both called me a LIAR when I told them I had trouble getting a mental healthcare professional appointment within the timeframe Kaspar gave me of 30 days. When I called to ask for one additional refill, his nurse asked me for the doctor's name and phone number, which I provided. Several hours later, his nurse called me back and said that Dr. Kaspar called me a LIAR and there is no appointment. When I offered to help clear this up, all his nurse would tell me is, "I'm sorry." Dr. Kaspar would not talk with me, and my portal access was immediately terminated. If you want your diagnosis to be LIAR, then this is your guy. If not, I highly suggest finding another doctor.

I have been a patient of his for over 20 years and yes he can be a pickle at times but over the years he has softened. I looked at the reviews and was puzzled at the low ratings, because he really is a good doctor. The only time the experience was not enjoyable was when my city decided to micro manage his patients, including me and he split the scene. There are some lies being told about Dr. Kasper and the city of Victoria should be ashamed of themselves. They basically wanted to out all of the HIV patients in the city by broadcasting our whereabouts in the building. They fired a perfectly good staff or thru their management let dedicated staff members walk out the door instead of allowing Dr. Kasper continue to practice his clinic there. I don't know how many people left that place to follow Adam, but I did. He cares, he is direct and up front but he truly cares about mine and his other patients wellbeing. He listens and at times I have even seen him smiling and laughing, once… you get used to his bluntness you, as I have, come to rely on his judgement because it really is for the absolute best. So for the patient who said he called you a liar and stormed out of the room, I just cant believe that. Let me tell you a story, a few years ago I went off my meds, I just got tired of taking the pill and stopped one day, when it became obvious I was in remission I went back and was welcomed back into his care, not because he needed patients and money, but because he recognized that I was trying to decide if I wanted to live or die. He asked me this point blank and I could not answer, because I didn't know. While I was deciding he nursed me back to health and during that time I have decided that living is far better. Living with this virus is difficult because of the stigma attached to it and the constant fear of being outed is always there. I'm not trying to hide my condition but I'm not trying to broadcast it either. He cares for us with the utmost discretion and with all the humanity a doctor caring for multi people can care. He give us his honest opinion based on all the known research out there, in a world where few actually care about HIV patients. I'm sure there are others out there with a few more years experience and a lighter temperament but if you want honest patient care and HONEST feedback on what is the best possible outcome for your own health the Dr. Adam is the one you need to see. I'm with him and will continue to stay with him until we find a cure. Its close we just have to hang tough .

After years of torture, he finally lost his contract with the county.

Dr Kaspar is a narcissistic freak. I can not believe he is a licensed doctor. I would not recommend going to him.

This extremely, arrogant, obnoxious, self indulgent man should not be practicing medicine. He is clearly narcissistic and is so busy bragging on himself and building himself up to have the competency to treat his patients. There is something clearly shallow and empty about this man. Do yourself a favor, and find a different Doctor.

I am very upset, I was accused of not taking my medication by this doctor. I take my pills and just want to get better. Instead of helping me, he just screamed at me and said I wasnt taking my meds. I wish I could see another doctor, but the county has a contract with him. I dont think he really cares for his patients, he knows we are at his mercy.

Still waiting for a call back from the nurse. Reading the reviews below, it looks like he must have wrote the good reviews on himself. I have sat in the waiting area for hours and talked to other patients..same stories... Don't question him or he will yell, be glad you get what you get... The county is paying so just be glad you are being seen at all. This doctor/nurses clearly don't care about the patients. I will continue to write reviews until I get a refill and call back.

I've been calling office for 2 weeks. No one calls me back. I can't get refil for my medicine and dr Caspar had the nerve to accuse me of not following instructions.
