Dr. Thomas Roger Kious, MD

He is not a nice man. My husband went in with gastric distress. He was in a fetal position facing the wall in a great deal of pain. He was unable to turn over at the dr’s barked commands. When I got there, my husband began crying hysterically. This Dr. Kious had triggered the worst panic attack I’ve ever seen with my husband. Shaking, stuttering,crying. Dr. Kious denied yelling. A nurse also said he didn’t yell. Funny. There was an older woman in the next ER room. She motioned me over. She and her aide confirmed the verbal abuse. The Dr came back in at my request. The first thing he said is “are you ready to cooperate?” I lost my temper. I told him he’d triggered my husband. He did not show one iota of sympathy. We left AMA and I took my husband who was thankfully in less pain to the VA. They were kind. They understood what was happening. We will not return to Rust unless Dr. Thomas Kious is not there. He has no empathy. He may be an ER doctor with high amounts of stress… but he lacks compassion. I was appalled at the way none of the nurses would confirm the yelling. The nurses had a station that we could see from the room. I know someone heard him yelling at my husband. Plus he poked my husband’s shoulder very hard and loomed over him. My husband was on a gurney. If he couldn’t roll over, then why in the H could they not just simply turned him around? Seems like a simple solution to be. But I doubt Dr. Kious thought of that since he was busy berating a veteran with pain at an 8. If there was a zero option, that would be my choice. Even go into -10. He needs to get his sh.. together or find other employment. Never have I or my husband been treated so rudely. This man needs to go. Compassion is a must when you are working with humans. Still I would not trust that man to treat my goldfish much less my husband.

this MD was very nervous and had a bizarre bedside manner
