Dr. Thomas Paton Knecht, MD

Just walked out of a scheduled visit. Doctor was going to be late by at least an hour from my appointment time. This seems to be the normal for this doctor! Every appointment I've had with him he has run at least an hour late.

Dr, Tom was the 50th doctor I had seen in 7 years while desperately trying to determine the cause of my multiple medical issues. He is different than the rest in most every way. He treated me like a human, he listened and was very easy to communicate with. He is very knowledgeable and we had a lengthy conversation while he educated me and we brainstormed on ways to help me. I left there with slew of diagnostic tests to do that no one else had suggested and knowing I finally had SOMEONE on my team. We are still working on figuring everything out but progress has been made and he is genuinely interested in helping me.

I have been going to Dr. Knecht for over 10 years and give him my strongest recommendation. He is up to date on the latest diabetes research and has helped me to bring my A1C to the low 5s. He is very personable and caring and provides clear advice and strategies for any circumstances presented.

In all fairness Dr Kenecht is a pleasant doctor. However, his office staff is unprofessional and inadequate. Wait time between appointments are approximately 6 weeks, yet 90% of my appointments were rescheduled another 4-6 weeks because authorizations were never requested. I was once scheduled on a Sunday (closed) and another time scheduled in error, even after questioning the validity of my appointment which the staff person insisted was required. Today I arrived EARLY at 1:16 for my 1:30 appointment. The door was locked. I waited in the hall then tried opening the door again, entered and signed in at 1:33. I took a seat and waited 8 minutes before being called to the front desk where I was told, I would not be seen because I was late. I was also told, I would be charged!
