Dr. Thomas Kovack, DO

Had Total shoulder resurfacing performed in Nov 2017 and a little over a year later feel better than I have in many years. More strength and more ROM. This was my 2nd operation on the shoulder after labrum repair ten years earlier. First opinion said partial replacement (humerus) but once in there maybe total replacement and maybe reverse replacement which I was very fearful of. 2nd opinion said only a total replacement would work but I was only 48 and very active (racquetball, volleyball) and was very concerned about how it would hold up and if I would be limited. After surgery Dr. Kovak said it was one of the worst cases of arthritis he had seen and if I had waited any longer only a total replacement would have been possible. Also had biceps tendon relocation and rotator cuff repair while in there. In a sling for a full 6 weeks because of all the work. Recovery was slow but steady. Started doing sports at about 5-6 months and once I got to 9-12 month felt stronger and better… than I had for 12 years (when labrum was first injured). I trust Dr. Kovak completely and my outcome has been fantastic. PA Anthony was also great.

I had an Emergency at home. I needed help from a person trying to get in the house through breaking antique stain glass window When that did nothing, I called 911 . They were here in three minutes. This person jumped through the one he had broken just seconds before the emergency squad. The men worked on my arm ,and other wise I close my eyes and floated out of orbit . I was told who my doctor was and he is still keeping up with my arm. He has been real nice , has a good sense of humor. I really appreciate him.

I went in for an initial visit with Dr. Kovack on a Tuesday. He ordered a MRI. By Thursday his office had not even contacted my insurance company for an approval for the MRI because his notes had not been transcribed yet... and I am standing by in pain. Either they are understaffed or there is no sense of urgency. Either way, I decided to go to Orthopedic One.

The first doctor I saw told me that I needed to have my shoulder replaced. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Kovack and he told me that total shoulder resurfacing would correct the issues I was having with range of motion and pain. Two months after my shoulder resurfacing surgery I had full range of motion and could, once again, complete daily activities with ease. Anthony Long and Tyler Hanson are excellent physical therapists. I highly recommend Dr. Kovack and his entire staff!

Great experience. He offers an alternative to replacement surgery that was just what I was looking for. Rehab time is cut in half and and have no pain or restrictions after three and a half months after surgery.

During a difficult time, this was the best decision I ever made.

I had my 3rd shoulder surgery in July. This was my first time with Dr Kovack. The service of both he and his staff was exceptional! I greatly appreciate Dr Kovacks experience and compassion for my shoulder needs. He throughly explained to me on my initial office visit the steps he would take to repair my injuries. His follow up visits, staff and physical therapy were well coordinated. The results are 5 months later I am back in my massage therapy office doing what I love to do! Thanks Dr Kovack! Ken

Dr. Kovack (and his staff) are amazing! 8 weeks post total knee surgery I am pain free and doing (almost) everything that I haven't been able to do for decades, including 4 rounds of golf in the last 2 weeks. Like me, get a second opinion on your knee and give his office a call.

Dr. Kovack struck me as confident and competent at our initial meeting. 3 months after surgery, shoulder works better than it has for 30 years and still improving. Would recommend to family and friends.Ease and timeliness of office visits was a plus.
