Dr. Thomas Matthew Kovaleski, MD

I saw him several years ago, when I was diagnosed with four. I had gained a lot of weight, because I didn't know what was wrong with me and I was in so much pain I couldn't do much. I weighed 137 lbs before I got sick and by the time I saw him I was up to 180. The only thing he could do was talk about my weight and how I needed to exercise. I told him if I wasn't in so much pain I would. He is the most uncaring doctor I've ever been too. My advice is stay away from him. I saw him two times and never went back. I've never been treated so terrible by any doctor. I'm not sure he even believed I was in pain. He is just a sorry uncaring, miserable doctor and should have he's license taken away.

Warning don’t ever go and visit Dr. Thomas Kovaleski he is a very mean and stupid doctor for rheumatology do not recommend what happen was he missed diagnosed my mother who was a patient over there for a couple years she went in and had problems with her hip and said hey I’m in pain I can’t walk Dr. Kovaleski refuse to give my moms x-rays or any type of scans he just looked at her and said oh you’ll be fine just take some Tylenol arthritis and you’ll be good to go my mom was super furious about this and went to another surgeon who is an orthopedic surgeon and actually diagnosed her as that your hip has been fractured and that she needed surgery right away my mom has been in pain for four weeks without even knowing that she had a fracture and that is why my mother refused to go see Dr. Thomas Kovaleski but my mother is in good health now she had her surgery and is taking her physical therapy but she Vows to never see this doctor again this guy needs to be taken out of the medical field… and not teach anymore and also he is racist! Your chances are better to go to another arthritis expert but stay away from Dr. Thomas Kovaleski

After 10 years of suffering I moved to LR my new primary referred me to Dr Kovaleski he listened attentively to all my concerns, looked over my records and ran blood work and I was diagnosed with Lupus, he began me on a medication that is always prescribed to patients for Lupus. Most of my symptoms have subsided and all the organ problems I’m having have been referred to their proper physicians and dealt with. He has amazing knowledge of Lupus and how to treat it. Whenever I have new concerns he listens and always addresses them immediately and I’ve never had an issue with bad bedside manner, gripping about wanting to retire ect! Some people just have personality conflicts! I love him he’s wonderful! You should have the drs I had for the past 10 years that told me it was all in my head! Now that’s a sucky dr!

I saw Dr. Kovaleski for nearly 2 years. I was referred to him by an allergist when I had a chronic rash all over my body. I had previously seen an ER doctor for symptoms I was displaying while on vacation and he recommended seeing an allergist and also asking for my "complements" to be tested. The ER doctor temporarily put me on 4 different antihistamines to keep the rash down while I could seek treatment with the proper doctor. The allergist told me what I was experiencing was not an allergy but some form of autoimmune disease. While under Dr. Kovaleski’s care he never once changed any of the 4 medications that the ER doctor put me on. He told me I was "likely experiencing the beginning of Lupus". The only thing he did was add a prescription for an anxiety pill. After seeing him every 4 months for 2 years and him repeatedly ignoring any new symptoms that I had, I began to question his treatment. My rash was not under control and I had new different skin conditions pop up. I drew the… line when I showed him a black spot on my back about the size of my hand. I explained to him that my friend noticed it while she was putting sunscreen on my back at the pool. He told me he had never seen anything like it and recommended that I "wash my back with soap and water". Baffled I explained to him that my friend rubbed sunscreen on my back and the spot did not wash off, nor had it washed off in the days and weeks leading up to the appointment. He then told me "tanning oil is much different than soap and water". After this appointment I never went back. I saw another doctor to get a referral to a new rheumatologist. Since I have been seeing her my life has changed significantly for the better. She discovered that I am high risk for a stroke because I have cranial vasculitis. I can only imagine had I not switched doctors...what all would of happened to me. I left his office after every visit in tears because of how much I was dismissed with all of my concerns. I have never felt so discouraged by a doctor to write a review. But if you are thinking about seeing Dr. Kovaleski for Lupus DON'T DO IT.

If you want a doctor who has sketches of topless burlesque dancers hanging in the exam room, who complains about how difficult his retirement planning is and who overmedicates patients to the extent they end up in the hospital -- then chastises that patient for calling his office for help -- then this is the doc for you.

Dr Kovaleski is a wonderful physician. His goal for his RA patients is for them to lead an active and comfortable life. He spends as much time as I feel is needed at each appointment and ensures that any and all of my questions have been addressed. We work TOGETHER to control my diease.

Came in Very quickly. Chewing gum, And never let me complete a sentence. Alone in the office. Was uncomfortable. So wanted To get help. Felt like I was bothering him. Took no time. So upset with my appointment, Could barely drive home. Arrogant, No compassionAnd will not go back to him. Gives doctors a bad name.

Do not waste your time. I wish I had read the reviews first before I went to see him. He will not let you talk and explain your problem. I was never informed over the phone to be prepared to be gowned and get an exam as a New Patient so that caught me a little off guard but to make it worse I am a female and have worked in a doctors office in the past and did not think it was even legal to do that without another female present. He did not have a nurse or anyone in the room. It was just him which made me feel very uncomfortable. Gave me a quick diagnoses of fibromyalgia and just stay on the medicine I was already on which obviously was not helping that's why I was there. I called a few months later to see if I could see another doctor. I did not even go into detail about his horrible manner just simply stated that I would feel more comfortable with another doctor and I was having some new symptoms which concerned me. They finally called me back 3 weeks later to tell me Dr. Kovaleski… said there was nothing else he could do for me and I just need to go find another rheumatologist. I'm sure they have good doctors at that clinic but this man is not one of them. I am going to a totally new clinic soon and can't wait to find someone that will actually listen to me and have a conversation explaining why he thinks its fibro or maybe something else.

this doctor is a total jerk. Does not listen to patient. He gets very arrogant if you ask any questions. I have never been treated so poorly by a doctor in all my life. He refuse to listen. took about 2 minutes total time and that included him login on to his computer. I would not even recommend him to treat an animal at the zoo. He is horrible, Wanted me to continue a med that had caused me to fall and hit my head 2 different times. He stated it wasnt the medication-- yet I had only taken it those 2 times and since being off the med( took my self off of it) I have not fallen since. Nope save your self the trauma.. dont stop here!!!

I had battled for years with numerous pains that were undiagnosed by other doctors. I had been given pain medication that wasn't working and my life was falling apart because of the loss of function. Dr Kovaleski spent about 15 minutes with me and diagnosed fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. He started me on meds, followed up closely for about the next year, adjusting my meds at each visit. Now I have NO pain and have my life back!! THANK YOU Dr. Kovaleski!! I recommend anyone who is having unexplained constant pain to see him and follow his orders and you will get your life back too.
