Dr. Thomas William Kramer, MD

I have achalasia, a severe swallowing disease. My regular doctors were not permitted to perform emergency surgery by their hospitals. Dr Kramer took me as a new patient and was great. He took me without any hesitation and took wonderful care of me. I highly recommend him. He is a 5 star doctor.

I was having “gut” issues for about 12 months and finally made an appointment with a G.I doctor, so I met with Kramer. I anticipated a longer meeting, but I felt rushed and cut off the entire time. I was there maybe 10-15mins all together for my first appointment. I was shocked it was that quick. I told Dr Kramer I wanted to get to the root cause. I asked Dr Kramer if we could run a stool test first or hormone tests since I had just got off birth control and noticed my whole body felt “off.” Dr Kramer would cut me off when I tried explaining my symptoms. He also stated he wanted me to take antibiotics first and “a stool test wasn’t even on his mind.” He insisted I take the pills and then follow up with him in 4 weeks. I didn’t like how medicine was just thrown at me without explaining what it was for. But I decided to do what he said, so I took the antibiotics for 1 week and my gut/digestive issues got worse. So I made an appointment with a Functional medicine doctor instead… and finally got answers! Not only was I with this new doctor for TWO hours, but we got to the root cause after running a few tests. I’m currently being treated for SIBO, and getting my hormones (flushing my body out of the excess estrogen from the birth control causing a lot of the symptoms and cortisol / adrenal glands functioning better). I’m finally feeling more like myself. It was a waste of time and money with Kramer! I wish I hadn’t gone.

I have been a patient of Dr. Thomas Kramer for the past 25 years. He is a kind and compassionate physican. Always willing to go th extra mile for his patients. I would highly recommend Dr. Kramer and his staff.

Very snooty and demeaning. Gets hostile very easily. Has no interest in helping you.

Dr. Kramer gave initial recommendations for gastro-related condition failed so called to make appointment (after having called a few times over the previous few days). He instructed me to meet him at Mount Carmel ER where he would see me. I was skeptical because I DID NOT WANT TO GO THE ER NOR DID I BELIEVE IT WAS AN EMERGENCY. HE DID NOT SUGGEST I GO THERE--he told me to go there to see him for care. Nonetheless, he never showed up. I ended up leaving the ER once I found out he wouldn't be coming after all. He left me stranded there all afternoon for "personal reasons" (aka golf), forced me to miss a half day of work, and left me stuck with $800 in medical bills, while now refusing to take any responsibility (and in fact tries to allege now that my issue was not under his specialty and that he just suggested I go and that I went on my own volition--neither allegation is true) or aid in paying and/or getting the bills reduced. This was certainly a breach of the professional… conduct of physicians and his actions were completely immoral and unethical. Lacks compassion and not a pleasant, combatitive personality. Looks down on patients, seems out of touch with his patients, and doesn't seem to care about anyone but himself (but god forbid he have to pay in full a medical bill).

I have been doctoring with Dr. Kramer for the last 15 years. He always explains everything to me in a way I can understand and always makes me feel as if I am his only patient. I trust him with my life.

Dr.Kramer is very professional and very skilled. I trust him completely to my care. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent doctor.
