We recently relocated to the area. Our child was experiencing allergies that were at time debilitating. Our goal was to find a Doctor that obviously was a pediatrician but also had great exposure in other types of care. Dr. C was that Dr. Setting up an appointment was easy. Office staff were courteous, however very disorganized. Took us nearly 15 minutes to get checked in. Once in the patient room the process took nearly 1.5 hours from start of new patient visit. Most of which was waiting. The visit started off with the Nurse. You go through the typical series of questions, concerns, explain in detail concerns.. as if their the doctor.. they document everything repeat what your concerns are and then state.. doctor will be in soon. Doctor gets in room and it's obvious he hasn't read anything , nor has the nurse primed him. You have to go through 10 minutes of talking all over again. There is NOTHING that makes more more upset than having to tell my story twice, especially in… health care and especially with my children. Fast forward to our concerns of our child. Breathing issues, continuous upper respitory infections. I explain to doctor, we believe there may be an underlying issue , possibly anemia and so on. Doctor ignores my request to run test. Doctor gives what I would call the typical statement on children, allergies, asthma and the "common" issues with air weather and how we as humans resct to moving to anew state. Doctor then prescribes our child a prescription for what is typically prescribed to children with severe asthma. A oral prescription that is not only black label warning but in many counties has been pulled of market bc is the severe life altering side effects it causes to the adolescent brain and their redevelopment. I didn't know this at first. But after I got home, I looked the product up and found a class action law suit and read hundreds of cases of poor moms regretting ever giving their now either dead children, or handicapped children this medicine. My heart sank. Even more interesting, is this Dr. mentioned that the warning (black label) wasn't substantiated. Not to take the warning seriously. Thank God I followed my instincts and went on line and did my research. Anyhow, we ended up seeing another provider and doing blood work. Found out our son has severe anemia, root causes for children not being able to breath due to oxygen and how the blood work. Long story, short wasn't allergies, was anemia, resulting in a series of issues of other issues when you are anemic. Shame on this doctor. He could have simply listened, did blood work and found the root cause. No.. He didn't. Instead he tried to prescribe a drug to an innocent child and potentially take something from him, all bc he didn't really listen or provide care, or maybe he is one of those doctors that is on the pharma payroll prescribing drugs that should not be prescribed to children, expecially when there are alternatives that have no risk for the child. Dr and for this matter , the Integris health system should think twice about the standard of care their providing. Not everyone is going to find your as a trusted provider. Parents, please, if you suspect your child needs real care, where the doctor does discovery, please, go elsewhere, not to this doctor.
