Dr. Thomas Joseph Kwiatkowski, MD

6 years ago at the age of 29, I was seen in the emergency room for stroke like symptoms and double vision by this doctor. At the time, nothing was showing on the MRI and scan, so he couldn’t make a diagnosis. He gave me an appointment for 3 months later, and sent me home. I began to get worse over the following weeks (Problems walking, headaches, vision problems increased) so I called his office for a sooner appointment. After another exam, he said he had found no reason for my symptoms and I “needed a psychiatrist.” Well... I’ve got a neurology team in Boston and about 8 boxes of medical files that say different. 6 months after that appointment, I was seen by a neurologist in Boston who sent me for a spinal tap. I was diagnosed with idiopathic intracranial hypertension. If left untreated, it can cause complications such as blindness, seizures, strokes etc. He put me at risk for all of that. The condition can only be diagnosed with a spinal tap and cannnot be seen on a scan.… Kwiatowski should know that. In the past 6 years, I have had 4 surgeries, had seizures, damages to my vision, and problems with walking and memory. I lost my job because of this. Had I not been shrugged off, this could have been avoided. Go to Boston if you can. Dr. Ufford at Berkshire Medical if you can’t. Just don’t let this guy do to you what he did to me. His ego outweighs his care for his patients.

I haven’t had this man as a doctor, but I did read a horrible, self-serving,unfounded and downright arrogant exchange between him and someone with a serious medical condition on social media. Clearly, this man thinks highly of himself and touted his education - but let’s face it, he’s a Dr. practicing in a small town with marginal skills and clearly no bedside manner. If you are reading this, come on over to SVMC in Bennington where there are actual doctors.

Poor listening skills.

He didn't return phone calls, his office staff is rude, and no one in that office seems to know anything about anything.

He's not gentle at all. You feel rushed the entire time you are in the office and even when you are in the room with him. You never a call back on any test results and never calls to check on you after a procedure. By far one of the worst doctors I have ever had.

Focused, professional, skilled. Asks pertinent questions, gives good feedback and is kind.

My underlying condition can't be cured, but he's great about checking symptoms, asking questions, and treating quality-of-life issues. His symptom management techniques have really improved my day-to-day living,

Not one--not the patient, not the family. Over 10 phone calls over 4 months and nothing. Utterly amazingly uncaring and unprofessional. Better get all your questions in when you have an appointment, every 2 months!

Compassion is his middle name. Knowledge and understanding of me not just a disease was and is a life saver.May God always Bless him and his family.Blessed with him as a doctor.
