Dr. Thomas Larry Lissman, MD

Dr. Lissman seems to be a graduate of the Throw Pills at the Problem School of Psychiatry. With little more than five minutes of interviewing my fiance suffering from depression, Dr. Lissman prescribed three medications. These had radical affects on her behavior to the point she could barely function at work or communicate inter-personally. Being in the state she was in, near catatonic, I felt it incumbent on reporting to the doctor her behaviors. He snapped at me for undermining the "therapy" for simply reporting to him the alarming effects of his treatment. His gauging of the effectiveness of the meds were no more than a "how do you feel?" which isn't much considering he was asking these questions of a depressed doped-up individual. Meds certainly have their place in treating mentally ill individuals, but mean little (and can be potentially dangerous) if administered recklessly. I expected more compassion and thorough treatment from someone to whom we had put so much trust in.
