Dr. Thomas Robert Macholan, MD

I am so happy that Dr Thomas Macholan is our family doctor. He is the sweetest doctor and whenever I have a well child for my daughter he is so patient with her and makes her comfortable so she doesn’t freak out on him. We are so lucky to have a doctor like him.

Dr Macholan was my primary doctor from childhood until I was almost 19. I switched doctors when he released medical info to one of my parents without my consent after I turned 18(this was 2008). I now have family also considering changing doctors after having multiple appts canceled. I am in no way affiliated with or paid by Metro Health but would highly recommend their doctors and staff based on personal experience over the last 8 years.

Dr. Macholan has been my Doctor since my middle school sports physicals 32 years ago. He is straightforward, compassionate, and does not sugar coat the truth. He listens, does not rush to write prescriptions, but rather looks into possible causes of issues you might be having. If you want someone to pat your hand and write a script for meds with no work on your part to improve your health, he is not that type. He will tell you what you need to DO. Get strong. Get healthy. As he and Applegate are founding Doctors of this practice, his schedule is BUSY and FULL, so you need to schedule appointments 5-6 months in advance and bring concise notes with you of points you would like to discuss when he gets into the room. Communicate with the nurses before your appointment so you can be clear of what your needs are and any needed tests/diagnostics they need you to complete can be finished before your appointment.

Every time I saw this Dr. he made me cry. He is rude and has absolutely no compassion whatsoever! I do not recommend him at all.
