Thomas F Mahar, D.D.S.
Dr. Mahar is a life long resident of Central New York. He grew up in Marcellus and attended Syracuse University. In 1990, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. Following dental school, Dr. Mahar completed the general practice residency program at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center where he remains a member of the medical staff sharing his experience and knowledge with the resident dentists.
Dr. Mahar maintains a commitment to excellence in dentistry. He believes that each patient should receive the highest level of dental care and customer service.
Dr. Mahar has received advanced training in several areas of dentistry with an emphasis on esthetic dentistry. Dr. Mahar is a member of the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Society, Onondaga County Dental Society, and the American Association of Cosmetic Dentistry.
When not in the office, Dr. Mahar enjoys spending time with …his wife Suzanne Byrne Mahar and children, Thomas III, Patrick, and Sarah.

Both my daughter and I go to Dr. Mahar. He and his staff have made myself and my daughter feel very comfortable going to the dentist. High quality work and very professional.

I recently moved back to Syracuse from Massachusetts. I had been going to the same dentist for 23 years in Massachusetts. I didn’t think I would find anyone as good. I was wrong! Dr Mahar and Molly the hygienist are great. They are very professional, and understanding. I’m very happy I was recommended to Dr. Mahar. His staff is very friendly and I look forward to a Long association with this dental practice! Five stars!!!

Lissa Ward is an excellent dental hygienist and is very friendly. I've received tremendous care from Dr. Mahar over the years.

every appointment I have it is always an exceptional experience! today apr 25th I walked in at 900a, both Suzanne and Molly met me with a good morning and smiles even though they knew my appt. wasn't until apr26th. apparently my apt reminder for my phone was disabled so my notification was not received. Immediately Suzanne was on the issue and corrected it and Molly rearranged her scheduled apt so I wouldn't have to come back. Molly is one of the most kind and caring person I know. she takes all the anxiety out of "going to the dentist"! thank you both soooo much! I cant go without saying, Dr. Mahar is just as kind and caring in his practice. I have never had anxiety with this team no matter the procedure. thank you all again!!!!!!

I have a patient of Dr. Mahar's since the early 90's. He is a very gentle and caring dentist. I had a very negative experience as a child with a dentist and would not go as a young adult until I had no choice due to fillings that needed replacing. I no longer have fear of going to the dentist thanks to Dr. Mahar and his staff and I wish that I had found him when I was younger.
