Dr. Thomas Carl Markham, MD

I went into surgery with another doctor expecting a full knee replacement and while I was under anesthesia, he decided to do only a partial. I never had good results. 5 years later Dr.Markham did a full replacement and I had excellent results. 4 years later, he replaced the second knee. Again, excellent results. He was always caring and compassionate and I highly recommend him.

Dr. Markham acted unprofessional and careless. I was sent to him after my PCP identified a herniated disc in my neck on an xray. Dr Markham only spent a couple minutes with me then told me that I would have to deal with this pain the rest of my life, prescribed me pain meds and steroids then sent me out the door. I went straight back to my PCP and he was appalled that Dr Markham did not order an MRI. So my PCP ordered an MRI which proved that I not only have one herniated disc but two herniated discs, which was causing spinal cord contact, numbness, and excruciating pain. I'm now going to see a neurosurgeon with no thanks to Dr. Markham. He even cursed at me and then ask me to excuse his French. What a joke.

Dr. Markham was not interested in my pain. He did not listen to my complaints and he did not perform any type of a physical exam. He stated that my injury could not be causing my pain and that there was nothing he could do for me. He told me to join a gym or health club.

I have been a patient of Dr. Markhams' for nearly 20 years and have been totally satisfied, with all visits!! he has replaced both my knees and assisted on my hip replacement.

Doctor has always taken excellent care of me for 25 years. He has performed numerous back surgeries, knee, and hand hand operation.

Dr. Markham is exceptional in his field with the added bonus of a compassionate bedside manner.

I would not recommend this unprofessional doctor to anyone. I am a health care professional myself and have never experienced such rude behavior from a real professional. Dr. Markham did not help me at all he came off so nasty and he didn't even examine me to find out what was going on. He just gave me prednisone and referred me to physical therapy. In the middle of physical therapy I ended up in the emergency room and out of work for a week. Went back to Dr. Markham only to have him tell me he don't know what else he could do for me. Now after 2 emergency room visits, 2 weeks of physical therapy and 3 appointments with Dr Markham I'm left with several bills and no real diagnosis. I have been robbed!!! Don't let it happen to you!!

I don't know if he's a capable surgeon but he's a putz when it comes to dealing with people he doesn't think he can help. His manner was heartless--telling me I should just get a walker. I'm 58 and have power walked for decades to fight recurrent obesity. I had one twist of the knee that tore the meniscus and arthroscopic surgery made it worse. Any decent doctor telling someone else that they're hopeless (because they are prejudiced against the obese) and to get a walker could urge weight loss and leave it at that. If I can't get the weight off, that's my problem.His demeanor insulted my character. I didn't need to pay $35 and be kept waiting an hour for that. All I want to do is cry. I'm not old yet. I HAD plans.

I had the unfortunate experience of having to see this idiot for my Workers' Comp injury. He spent so much time calling me fat and telling me about my weight that he didn't even address my injury. This man should be nowhere near patients. His nurse is just as rude as he is. If I could give his office 1/5 of a star, I would.

When I left the office this morning I felt like the little fat kid I used to be that had just gotten bullied on the playground. I felt belittled and made fun of for saying I couldn't afford to join a wellness center to use their pool. He didn't want to hear anything I had to say. I felt like he had an elitist attitude toward me and overweight people. It was all I could do to hold the tears back until I got back to my truck. He did give me names of other local doctors who might do my surgery. About the only positive thing I can say about this appointment. There was no reason for the rudeness I was subjected to today.
