Dr. Martin didn't treat my broken wrist, but he was the doctor I saw when I had the cast removed. He sent me for a ct scan right after to make sure everything healed properly. The first clue that he didn't know what he was doing came when the ct doctor informed me the brace Dr. Martin put on my wrist was upside down. I had a followup with Dr. Martin about a week later because I didn't think my wrist healed properly, and he wanted to simply give me a shot of cortisone. I asked him if the ct scan said anything was wrong. He said he had no idea what I was talking about. I reminded him that he sent me for a ct scan. He said he didn't know what the results were, but that they wouldn't be helpful in determining if my wrist healed incorrectly. I wish I had known that before paying $200 out of pocket for the scan. He just kept suggesting shots of cortisone. He even said, "I can give you a shot of cortisone into the bone, and if it did heal wrong, the cortisone will dissolve the bone and make… it reform in the proper shape." When I questioned the validity of the treatment, he admitted, "Yeah, I guess that wouldn't actually work like that." I found out later from a specialist that my wrist had in fact healed wrong and needed to be rebroken and set correctly.
