Office staff was extremely accommodating. My visit went great. Dr. Thomas Matthews was extremely nice and his bedside manner was excellent. I would recommend him to anyone that needs a cardiologist

Great! He actually cares and lists. His office wait is a little long, but worth it for a caring doctor!

Dr Mathews performed a cardiac cath on me , to be honest I was very annoyed that I was kept waiting around for him. My procedure times were changed several times the day I was going down for it. I wasn’t sure I was going to retain him as a dr and had my reservations going to his office for a follow up. His office is small and crowded. His receptionist Judy,was a pleasant woman with a lot of patience! Once I saw the dr, I knew that I had the right cardiologist for me! He is a very busy doctor but takes his time answering your questions and makes it easy to understand your conditions. What impressed me most was, I had 1 more question as he was leaving the room. Instead of rushing me out he quickly took a seat to listen to my concern!! Most doctors would stand at the door to answer your question! Dr Mathews cares about his patients, doesn’t rush through your exam, and is a very likable guy! I made the right choice and will not get anxious and annoyed if I have to wait for him in the… future. He is worth the wait! Bless his staff too!

Have been going to him for years and I think he is the best cardiologist I have ever encountered. He is a very caring Doctor and is very good. Someone complained about him being busy, if you find a good doctor they are busy. Judy, his receptionist is not nasty, she is very busy and is a no nonsense type person.

My wife and I have both been patients of Dr Mathews for about six years. He is competent and caring. I recommend him without hesitation.

Mathews put a stent in me 2 years ago that was told me was too small. Nurses in Oak Hill told me that after having a heart attack in the ICU . Then while still in the hospital 2 days later I had a second heart attack . I flat lined 5 times in the next 4 hours and Mathews refused to come back to the hospital. Doctors and Nurses begged him to return since he was the only cardiac on call but he refused . Dr Wahl was called by a friend of mine and he came and saved my life. I had a 100 % blocked widow maker . The hospital claims to have changed their policy when a doctor refuses to come back to the hospital . Oak Hill refused to take any responsibility after telling me they would. There were 11 complaints about Mathews given to hospital administration by the nurses against Mathews and the entire matter was swept under the rug .

I have never met a nicer or a more competent doctor although all my doctors are good.

Dr. is great but his receptionist is a rude and nasty person. Waiting room is tiny and most time all the seats are taken. I have had to wait outside or in my car. Wait time is sometimes 1 1/2 hours and more. Did I mention the Receptionist is nasty ??

Office staff are VERY rude.
