Dr. Thomas John Matiski, MD

I am a patient who always gets sick with Anastasia. Dr. Metzke called me the night before, talk to me about my concerns with my surgery and the next day when he came to visit me before my surgery reassured me that I would not get sick and that I would not throw up! Well I have to tell you I’m 70 years old and I have had many surgeries this is the first Doctor Who really cared about my feelings and I did NOT throw up I wasn’t even sick to my stomach. He did an amazing job and I will always request him .

I had two separate carpal tunnel release surgeries, and after meeting Dr. Matiski during my first surgery, I specifically requested him for my second. In fact, I wanted to get my second surgery done on a Thursday simply so I could take less time off from work, but I had my surgery on a Tuesday (and submitted more time off at work) for the sole purpose of having Dr. Matiski as my anesthesiologist again. He’s that amazing. I woke up feeling great with no sickness or nausea. That’s great on its own, but there’s an even bigger reason I love this man as a doctor. I have a very rare autoimmune disorder and when he called me the night before my first surgery, he had done a ton of research on it just so he could learn about it and understand it, and could then take the best care of me. My blood doesn’t circulate well and clotting is always the biggest fear, so he ensured the nurses kept a warming machine on the blanket over my legs and even told my surgeon that he should do my surgery without… a tourniquet; both methods to keep my blood flowing well. He treated me so kindly and took the absolute BEST care of me!!! He treated me as a whole patient and looked beyond just the carpal tunnel procedure itself, and I can never thank him enough for that. You will LOVE this man!

Best Anesthesiologist I have ever found. Caring and insightful. Finds new answers to old problems, like revamping anesthesia for me because I am sensitive to versed.

I recently had shoulder surgery and Dr Matiski was my anesthesiologist. He walked in and immediately put me at ease. Very caring and explained everything. I woke up from surgery with absolutely NO pain and felt like I had taken a short nap. I never would have believed this was possible. Dr. Matiski is AWESOME!!

Dr. Matiski was my anesthesiologist when I had surgery to replace an artificial ankle with a new ankle. He went way above and beyond my expectations and previous experiences I've had with many surgeries. I would definitely seek him out for further surgeries, if needed! He's incredible!!!
