What a jerk! There’s efficient, and then there is choreographed like I saw this place was. It was really bizarre. Then, there is the bizarre paperwork I received in the mail saying that he cannot stand scents and that he will cancel your surgery if you smell. After the procedure, he asked impatiently if I wanted stitches and then jumped on me when I didn’t fully understand. His annoyance and impatience me on edge, and couldn’t make an informed decision. I was being pushed into a decision when I had not made one. Then, he got annoyed that I wanted stitches for a wound that obviously need them. His attention was completely divided, and he kept leaving the room which prolonged my visit a lot longer than it should’ve been. To make matters worse, I told his assistant that I did not like his attitude. At the end, it was apparent from everyone’s body language that they knew I was pretty mad including the doctor, yet he made no attempt to rectify it.

Would never recommend this doctor. Refused a child of services!!

From notification of biopsy results through post-surgery follow-up, I have nothing but accolades for Dr. McGovern and his assistants. They were all very pleasant, thorough, caring and professional in their communications, providing information and instructions. They made the surgical procedure as comfortable and easy as possible, taking time to insure the best outcome for minimal scaring. This was my 2nd MOHS surgery by this team; my 1st was a few years ago. They are top notch!

Outstanding continuity of care from my biopsy by Dr. Sarkisian, referral to Dr. Mc Govern, to scheduling, prep for procedure, explanation of procedure, excellent surgical skill of Dr. Mc Govern during my procedure and closure, to incision site care and follow up. I am very grateful that Dr. Mc Govern was my surgeon and highly recommend him for your surgicial dermatology needs!!

Dr McGovern performed a mohs procedure on my upper lip. Not my first experience but an area of particular sensitivity and one I wanted to heal well without a scar. I am very pleased with the results. He did an excellent job and I am satisfied that there is no obvious scar.

Kim and Shannon did a fantastic job with pre and post shots and minimum pain. Doctor McGovern was above average with the procedure.

Dr. McGovern did an excellent job explaining and performing the removal of squamous cell carcinoma from my ear.

This was my second procedure by Dr. McGovern, the first back in 2019. The entire staff was very professional and efficient. I will not hesitate to return if the situation arises in the future.

After 2 weeks my husband's finger is still a swollen, seeping mess! Dr. McGovern has been not only rude and arrogant, but now he is refusing to see his own patient. Went to see a different dermatologist and he wonders if his finger is dead! I filed with the state board. Never have I seen such a mess in the medical field.

Dr Mcgovern performed Mohs surgery on me about 2 years ago. I have since moved from the area so I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. My procedure required 3 "tries" to remove the cancer. Dr McGovern had a difficult time sewing me up afterwards and was quite impatient with himself, maybe even frustrated, and he kept questioning me about whether I took blood thinners. I told him no, twice, as if it was my fault he was having difficulty with the stitches and my thin blood. My wound didn't heal correctly. I think the internal stitches did not hold and when the external stitches dissolved I had an open wound. All this was really fine, things happen, but Dr McGovern seemed to be really offended and didn't want to accept responsibility for the way things were progressing. He said that he had "higher standards for himself". Geez, it aint' about you, Doc. So, yes, he's got quite the ego and his bedside manner is pretty bad. He did get the cancer though, so there's that. If I lived in… the area I would probably look for another doctor. There are plenty of capable docs out there.
