Dr. Thomas James Mckinney, MD

He is very rude I have a very complex medical history, and it was worse about it as the fact that he completely dismissed me I had a fracture and a worse condition on my foot that he completely dismissed, which is gonna have to have surgery and instead of trying to help me he couldn’t get me out the door faster. I have never been an ER and out the door in 30 minutes. If you ever have any issues, this is not the doctor you want to see I would honestly walk out of the hospital so if you plan on going to a Mercy facility and you see this doctor run, he’s not there to help you

Unprofessional. He was too busy entertaining the nursing staff with his stories and politics to give adequate attention to the patient. Very loud and rude. Needs to work on professionalism.

Dr. McKinney saw my daughter and not only informed her of the condition but made sure I thoroughly understood as well. He is very intelligent and you can tell that he takes precise care and is very diligent of his work. Wonderful doctor.

His bed side manner sucks and he like to accuse people of wanting pain med's when you never ask for any at all. He didn't like being called out for not doing his job but i was not going to be treated like a drug seeker then be talked to like i did something wrong when i expressed my feeling about not being examined properly or at all for that matter. He needs to develop some much needed people skills if your going to be in that line of work. Not everyone is a drug addict or seeking pills.

I went to Reid hospital ER for really bad abdominal pain and saw Dr. McKinney. He was very courteous and took his time with me. He diagnosed me diverticulitis and gave some meds that cleared it up right away. I highly recommend him and Reid hospital.

I am happy to express my gratitude towards Dr. Tom! We were visiting the area for the Easter holiday when our two children fell violently ill, leaving us no alternative but to check into the ER. He was able to diagnose both children with a highly contagious (and dangerous) strain of the flu. He was extra careful with our little ones, which put all worries aside. He was also very considerate of our parental needs as it was very exhausting and stressful, as one might imagine. I am very thankful the Reid Hospital has a doctor so knowledgable and educated. I highly recommend him to anyone in need in the area. I won't hesitate to use this hospital in the future if need be. The doctor and his staff showed great concern and care in dealing with our situation. Their work on my two little ones speaks volumes of their work ethic. They clearly put their patients needs first. Dr. McKinney is one of the best doctors I have ever had. He was courteous, smart, thoughtful and listened to my complaints. I had been to several doctors already for my complaint and he is the ONLY one who helped. I hope the Reid hospital hires more doctors like him.
