Dr. Thomas Anh Nguyen, MD

This doctor has excellent credentials and knowledge of addictions. He is compassionate and takes his time with me.

The dr that listens anf cares about the patient. He is well schooled and has great knowledge about addiction, pain and the medicine he prescribes. I highly recommend him too.

i have gone to three different suboxone clinics in the past and could only stay clean with suboxone for about 9 months. This was because those doctors were not addiction doctors and were only writing me suboxone and do not interact with me. Each time I would see a different doctor. I even begged a doctor to increase my dose because he was prescribing me one suboxone a day and I have a 4 year long bout with heroin. I was recommended by a friend to see Dr. Thomas Nguyen and I could not believe how dedicated, patient and knowledgeable he was about my opiate addiction. He spent over one hour with me first visit and explained how heroin affected certain parts of my brain to cause me to act badly and how suboxone can help my brain heal over time. Each visit, he would spend time counseling me on how to improve my recovery with exercise and taking care of my relationships as a part of my treatment. He prescribed me the exact amount of suboxone films that I needed to feel well to go to… work. He saved my life. I hope that more patients who are treated poorly by non addiction specialist would know how good this doctor is. I will stay with this doctor as long as i can to stay clean and improve my life.

Doctor was rude, and refused to listen to what I had to say. I was accepted as a patient, went to my first appointment and was seen by doctor Nguyen. After talking to him for five minutes the subject of my marriage came up, and he refused to see me as a patient due to who my husband was. He does not know my husband, my husband has never been a patient of his, but he insisted that he knew my husband and even said "I tried to help him 3 times!" I tried telling him he had to be confused, but he wasn't hearing any of it. He accused me of not having a safe and stable home environment - keep in mind I have said nothing about my home life - he made this assumption when he asked if there has ever been any domestic violence issue, and I said yes - back in 2007, almost nine years ago! My life is not the same. Nor am I the same person I was nine years ago. But he refused to let me speak, and he had already made up his mind - he didn't want to see me as a patient. He made me feel humiliated,… insecure, and to be honest - I have never been knocked down so much in my life by one person in such a short amount of time. All because he thought he knew my husband, and I'm guessing he was thinking my husband was some kind of "demin" so-to-speak. And for the record, my husband and I work everyday, take care of our children, have a stable home, and do well to maintain stability - thankfully. I love my life now, and have come a long way. Dr. Nyugen had no idea who my husband was, and really had no legitimate reason to treat me like he did and to dismiss me as a patient during my very first visit! In my opinion, he is a very poor Addiction Specialist. Also, after going through all this - The office wouldn't even give me my full refund on the office call payment. I had no choice but to accept a partial refund. I can't help but to think, if only that doctor would have just slowed down and take five minutes to listen to me. He was wrong. The whole experience was wrong, and I'm sorry that I even took time out of my life and miss work - to go to that appointment.

This doc does not know what he is doing. Just rude and can't talk to him.
