Dr. Thomas L Opsahl, DDS

Dr.
Opsahl joined Family Dental Associates in May of 1983, following a
year of post graduate dental residency training at Fletcher Allen
Medical Center.
His Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree (DMD) was obtained at the
University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA in 1981. This training
was preceded by four years of undergraduate study at Valparaiso
University, Valparaiso, Indiana, from which he graduated magna cum
laude.
Dr. Opsahl (Tom) enjoys many of the disciplines of dentistry, but
has specifically focused his continuing education in the area of
adult restorative dentistry.
Having studied at the Dawson Center in Florida, he enjoys
integrating the disciplines of temporomandibular health, bite
relationships, and cosmetic reconstruction. Use of endosseous
implants, ridge preservation and augmentation grafts, and computer
assisted technology (Cerec by Sirona), help him routinely to provide
the best of periodontal and restorative services.
Tom and Michelle were married in 1979 in North …Hero, VT. Michelle is
an intensive care nurse at Rutland Regional Medical Center, having
completed her training at Castleton State College in 1991. Their
three children are now adults. Hilary is recently married and
currently resides in Buffalo, NY, with her husband, Jim. Jim helps to
manage the family construction firm with his father, while Hilary is
communications officer for M&T Bank. Lauren, now also a resident of
Buffalo, NY, is enrolled at the University at Buffalo Law School.
She will graduate in the spring of 2012. Brad is
enrolled at the University of Vermont, and is studying in the
Business School. A spring of 2012 graduation is anticipated.
Dr. Opsahl and family are outdoor enthusiasts. They particularly
find time to ski and ride in the winter, with Pico as “their home
mountain”. Other interests include sailing, tennis, mountain biking, hiking,
and swimming.
