Dr. Thomas Randolph Perkins, MD

so when I called for an appt they told me they weren't seeing patients for chronic conditions. I told them I had chronic conditions, but I didn't need a doc for those. I needed a replacement family doctor for just general stuff. She said he only sees patients for colds n stuff. Do you want to see him for a cold? I said yes, and a couple other things. I have some spots on my face and I've been having headaches. She said ok and gave me my appt. I got there today filled out all my paper work and the nurse called me back. She said step on the scale and are you allergic to anything? I said I just wrote it down on that paper you have and it's also on my records you have from my old doc. She didn't say nothing. Some of the 5 things I'm allergic to I can't pronounce. We get in the room and I tell her what I'm there for and run over a lil bit of my history which is all on the paperwork I supplied and filled out. She said Dr. Perkins isn't seeing chronically ill patients, he only sees… patients for colds. I said well I have a cold and I have these spots on my face, I just want to know if they're bad, I need two refills and I'm having headaches. I don't need to see him for my chronic stuff, I have doctors for that. I just need a regular doc. She look down her nose at me like I was a contagious alien, lol and said she needed to talk to the doc. I said well if he don't want to see me just give me my records and I will leave. She said wait and let me ask. I got up, got my purse and keys. I was ready to leave. Another nurse came in and she said he doesn't see chronically ill patients. I said ok, can I have my records back. She said we can let you see a nurse practitioner. I said no thank you. You mean to tell me, I have too many complicated issues for a doctor , but they are passable for a nurse to treat me? I said no, can I have my records? I said I've never had a doctor turn me away. She said I'm sorry. I walked out, the very handsome doctor was standing there with all the young pretty nurses around him laughing. I turned and looked at him, they all got quiet and he wouldn't even look at me. He didn't have enough dignity to even come in the room and refer me to the other doctor there or to another doc in town that would see me. I walked in front of the receptionist desk and two of the young girls were there and 1 person in the waiting room. I said he won't see me. I have too many health problems. The one girl said "weeeell". I left and was so upset, yes I drove off cryin. No I don't want no pity, I just want to know what lesson God was teaching me today? It's that people are cruel!!

All he does is give steroid shots, give you doxyclycline and cough syrup and sends you home to return for re check in 6 weeks. Not very thorough at all and really not very friendly.

He's been our family doctor for 10 years now. He is thorough, sincere, and cares about us. He has patiently searched the best suitable medication for my condition, and as a result, I've been very healthy. I owe him my life!
