Dr. Thomas Andrew Peters, MD

If you can get through to Dr. Peters, I think he does a good job. However, he has a solid wall built around him, and they love to say “no”. I find that his assistant makes decisions for him, and refuses to explain my problem with him; even if it’s a bad reaction to a medication or a treatment plan. She offers her suggestions and is making medical decisions for which she is not trained. When I insist that she please share my concerns with him, she says she will, but I never hear back. In fact, she rarely responds to voice mails. After 10 years of being his patient, I was 10 minutes late for my appointment. I tried calling to say that I was stuck at every light, but the phone kept ringing and was not answered. When I arrived and explained that I was trying to call. The woman at the desk said that they shut the phones off during lunch. It wasn’t during lunch; it was 1:15. And on that subject, why would a doctor’s office shut their phones off ever. That’s what answering services are for.… Not to mention, does everyone need to take lunch at the same time? When I arrived, the woman at the desk said that she would need to check with Dr. Peters assistant to see if I could be seen. I knew before she asked that the answer would be “No” because, this gal is on a power trip, and loves saying “No”. I was 10 minutes late, and the receptionist said that I was 12 minutes late, and that Dr. Peters has a 10 minute policy. No one has ever told me that before today. I was there exactly 10 minutes late, so the receptionist lied. I had stood there for 2 m notes while she ignored me. Showed her my cell phone time. She also lied about the phones being off for lunch, when it wasn’t lunch time. My husband was a physician. I ran his practice. He surrounded himself with compassionate staff because he cared. I must accept the fact that these people who work for Dr. Peters are performing their jobs according to his wishes. It’s very sad. But medicine should be a calling which includes compassion and caring as well as skilled practice. As I mentioned in my opening remarks, if you can get through to the physician, he does the job. I simply struggle with less than commitment and carrying demeanor toward patients. His staff seems to enjoy being rude and condescending. Shame on him for allowing this to go on.

RUN from this medical center. I was told that I would be covered under Medicare for an "annual wellness visit" and blood tests that would be covered under my medicare and other insurance. I then received a bill from quest for over 600.00. When I called Quest I was told that these tests were NOT authorized OR covered by medicare. And I was totally responsible for this amount. So I went back to Sundance and spoke to their billing department who told me COLDLY they were NOT responsible for this and i was MY responsibility to call Quest. I told the I not only called Quest but also Medicare. Both entities would not help me in any way. Sundance billing said they were NOT going to call or do anything further. This is not an ethical response. I sent them a letter where I demanded their involvement to help me settle this. I gat an angry call from them telling me to find another medical center. This is not the response I was anticipating. Not only do they offer no help, but treated… me poorly and very hostile. I did NOTHING wrong here. I told them I would seek a legal opinion, and that seemed to get them even angrier. Needless to say I will be seeking another more caring and ethical doctor and medical center. I know I am now on the hook for 600+ but that is not the issue here. I had hoped they would help me find out what the problem was instead of telling me not to return. IF you are looking for a doctor and a medical center who has YOUR back in all issues medical SEEK anywhere else but here. There are many other venues here in Vegas who will not treat you like trash. You have been warned.

Dr. Peters has been my internist for over 10 years, He is always available to his patients, very personable, and excellent at this profession. I highly recommend him.

You have to call time after time to set up an office visit. Trying to get your medicine is just impossible. The front office staff are gre and know their job,but the back office staff is piss poor on the best days. He does not give you the office visit services that you are looking for. His medical assistant does not answer calls in a timely manner or most times does not answer at all. She will liar her way out of things all say that the doctor or front office staff messed up. I am still waiting over four months for a return call about a medical problem. I changed doctor and things are a lot better. I ask him for the shingles's shot and he refused to give it to me stating that I did not need it. Guess would got a very bad case of the shingles's , that right me. That a lot, for all the pain and suffering that I had. Do not use this guy.

Excellent bedside manner. Always accommodates. Be going here for 4 years. Never wait more than 20 minutes of appointment TIME.

Find somebody else, far from the best

I don't put up with doctors I do not trust. I've been back in LV for 14 years and been a patient of Dr. Peters for almost that long, as has my wife. Aside from Dr. Peters himself, there are two PA/Nurse Practioners

his office staff is very poor and none responsive. He, on the other hand, is a great Doc. His office would be awesome if his staff would simply follow through.

Excellent Doctor! Very friendly and staff is great too. Listens and never judges.

Lost medical coverage because Dr. Thomas Peters refused to correct incorrect medical records and incorrect billing charges. Despite repeated efforts in writing and calling and visiting the office, Dr. Peters would not make the changes. I felt like he was too busy to be bothered so I spent some time and effort in finding a physician who is interested in my health and well being. With Obamacare, accurate medical records may not be an issue but I prefer having correct diagnostic codes and billing procedures followed.
