Dr. Thomas John Priest, MD

Been seeing him for years, chronic pain like most Veterans, the care used to be great and then out of nowhere he cut off the medication. VA in general has been bad, but this is ridiculous. I will never see him again, you don’t want to imagine what I’d do to him if I saw his smug face. Avoid this quack at all costs. They force you to sign some agreement and take drug tests, fine, but don’t have a knee jerk reaction to other idiots overdosing from heroin and fentanyl and then cut off patients who have sacrificed their bodies and well being for the good of this country.

I've seen this dr. at Golden VA three times. I've had severe chronic pain for a botched kidney surgery in 2009. He has decided to reduce my pain meds. Though he does not follow the NEW VA & Co. guide lines he gets very mad and abrasive with you and walks out of the room. He tried to force me to sign the advice and consent form for my reduction of my pain meds. (that is against the guide line rules). DO NOT TRUST THIS DR. at the VA. I know that other vets are having the same problems. Vets talk out against Dr. CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN about it. I've already gotten one Dr. move or fired due to a Congress investigation. My years of "treatment" at the VA were consistantly terrible, but with no insurance I had no option. Even so, 1 visit with "Dr." Priest and I quit free VA healthcare forever. This man is as uncaring and inept as his "treatment" is criminal. I would never ever, let a loved one see this person, even for free. Years of chronic pain and within my 1st 5 minutes with him, he decides to take away what little bit of pain medication the VA was providing because "if your in pain on the pain meds then you don't need to take the pain meds" Even after explaining that I am still in pain because I wasn't allowed enough pain medication he stuck to his guns. Never did concern for finding out what was specifically wrong or how we might fix it rather than cover it up even get considered by this quack.

Dr. Priest was my doctor for years until we moved to Tennessee. We are now moving back to Brevard County and he will be my doctor again. Dr. Priest is an amazing doctor in every way.
