Dr. Thomas Anthony Ranieri, MD

I have gone to him in the past for spinal stenosis and sciatica. He was "always" understanding and took the time with me that I needed. I had concerns about taking medication and he was always understanding about my concerns and gave me ideas on other ways to try and help and alleviate the pain. He never advocated taking more medication than you were comfortable with.

I THINK DR. RANIERI IS OR WAS A GREAT DR. HE ALWAYS WAS VERY UNDERSTANDING AND HELPFUL, AT FIRST. THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN HE WAS TO BUSY TO SPEND MORE THAN 5 MINS WITH A PATIENT, AND THE STAFF HE HAD WERE VERY RUDE AND VERY DOWN GRADING TO THE PATIENTS. THEY WOULD SIT AND TALK ABOUT PATIENTS WHILE OTHER PATIENTS WHERE AROUND, AND IF I AM NOT MISTAKE THAT IS AGAINST THE HIPPA LAWS. WHATEVER TOOK PLACE WITH HIM LEAVING IN MY OPINION WAS RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! ALL I GOT WAS A YOU KNOW WHATS GOING ON HERE RIGHT? WHEN I ANSWERED NO HE JUST SAID THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE IN TH E NEW CASTLE LOCATION THE FOLLOWING MONTH AND DID NOT KNOW WHERE THEY WOULD BE THAT SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME BUT THAT I MIGHT WANT TO JUST FIND ANOTHER DR. AND WALKED OUT OF THE ROOM. THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN SOME KIND OF WARNING SO PEOPLE COULD FIND OTHER DRS. I WAS ON 2 DIFFERENT KINDS OF OPIOTS AND LET ME TELL YOU THE WITHDRAWS THAT I WENT THROUGH AND MY FAMILY HAD TO DEAL WITH WAS NOT FUN! I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE,… AND BOY LET ME TELL YOU WHAT A FUN BIRTHDAY I HAD IN THE ER BECAUSE OF THE WITH DRAWLS I WAS GOING THROUGH. THEN I TRY TO FIND ANOTHER DR AND HEAR THAT NO ONE COULD GET MY RECORDS BECAUSE THEY WERE ON LOCK DOWN SO I COULDN'T GET AN APPOINTMENT WITHOUT MY MEDICAL RECORDS WAS JUST GREAT. SO I FINALLY GOT THAT TAKEN CARE NO THANKS TO THE RUDEST PERSON I HAVE EVER TALKED TO AT THE NEW CASTLE OFFICE. EVEN THOUGH HE DID A LOT FOR ME I REALLY AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE DR FOR THE WAY HE HANDLED A LOT OF DIFFERENT THINGS WITH MY CASE HE ALSO DID A LOT FOR ME. I JUST WISH HE DID THINGS A LOT DIFFERENTLY!!!!!

After seeing him for years, with NO NOTIFICATION, I go for my monthly appointment to find out he closed his practice b/c he sold it & left people w/o a dr, meds, & records last minute with no notice! New people will open in a few months she thinks but not sure on phone or anything. Clinics are now flooded & cannot take patients & w/o records dr aren't taking people. I stuck w/him thru his DEA business only to be left dry. He didn't even tell anybody by phone or letter w/30 day supply. How am I going to work, take care of special needs kids & cold turkey off major narcotics w/severe pain

I think he is a great dr me and wife see him and he always asking about my kids and talking and nows my problems but the dr peter fragoes he got work for him is rude a will not even give u a chance to talk all he says is I don't under stand .ps front desk needs to learn to answer phone but girls real nice best nurse there is chilse and tammy

He is a thorough dr and honest and respectful. And very knowledgeable. Highly recommended dr. Shouldve got best of best.

Yes he did decrease or even change medications with in the past couple of months. He had a meeting with the DEA. He had to change the way he wrote prescriptions because that is what the DEA insisted on! If he did not do it their way, they would take his license and then no one would be getting ANY medications. So please just be happy that you are getting some type of treatment. Also if you don't like the doctor, the staff, or the treatment (lack of drugs you get) then please move on. You go there on your own free will and you can seek another doctor at any time you want!

Doctor is caring and helpful, staff is the worst group of people I've ever met in my life. They are incompetent and extremely rude and offensive. You can hear them talking trash on patients behind the counter. And don't expect to see the doctor for about two hrs after your scheduled appointment. Would be best to clear your entire day. My suggestion find someone else like asap

Change my meds from methadone to ms contin. I have gone backwards in my quality of life. the ms contin doesnt even touch my pain. i work for a living now thats in jeopardy cause i cant stand the pain... He didnt even lower my methadone dose just took me rite off it. saying his hands t tied from the dea. on methadone 5yrs now ms contin. major withdrawl!!!!!!

Poor bedside manner, not willing to explain

Dr. Ranier has been the only physician who adequately dignosed my problem. I had aruptered disk and he removed it with an endoscope, I am now pain free.
