He has the bedside manner of a moron

Arrogant, rude, poor bedside manner, insulting, and could not admit/accept his surgery was a total screw-up. Living yrs. later with complications & yes no lawsuit because I wouldn't have been able to get all the records (my chart was conveniently thinned) and expert testimony, plus had been through enough.

He is the greatest doctor.With out him, I would not be alive today.

Dr. Rice knows a lot, tells you a lot and he talks fast. As a patient be ready to pay attention. He listens well although his bedside manner is not of one of a sympathetic, understanding caregiver" . A better typing of his character would be a "scientist". He has a quick, ironic sense of humor too. I have not had surgery with him, but if I had, as he confidently told me, I'd be better off than I am. Also he is the ONLY doctor of the many I have seen who listened and did not dismiss my explanation of why I thought several conditions I have are related. One year later, he told me about research that confirmed my suspicions. All this took about 5 minutes of conversation over 2 years, but not a minute of that time was wasted on empty pleasantries. Moreover, he thought through the situation during the year between my visits to the clinic.

To diagnosis my problem he needed to do an endoscopy.He refused to give me enough medication so I could sleep. I felt everything. I even was able to point to my hand with the IV indicating more meds. He pushed my hand away. His bed side manner is rude. He has an arrogant attitude. I would never allow or trust him to complete a surgery for me. I would be afraid his arrogance would get in the way of doing his job.

Dr Rice is caring for a family member that has had a total esophagectomy and partial gastrectomy whom has encountered some very rare complications. His knowledge base and experience are astounding. He is confident in the care he provides and does not give false hope. He is a realist and at the same time faces so many critical circumstances with such a positive outlook. He educates and reassures his patients and their families. I recommend him to anyone looking for a good doc in his areas of expertise.
