Dr. Thomas Jerome Romano, MD

Worst Dr. Office I have ever dealt with. Wife only gets to see PA's. She has a very serious condition and they make no effort to help. Anytime you call they try to send you to the ER. After last trip to ER we need DR RAmano to adjust the meds but we have not been able to get a call back for 3 days. After making an appoint with a new gastro his office finally called to say they would not release records unless they drop us as a patient. Second opinions are not welcome with him. Unfortunately, we were referred here by our primary. We knew it was a big mistake but we were desperate. They also miss diagnosed my sister in law for 6 years which lead to her needing a kidney transplant. Not sure how they keep any patients. Everything about them sucks.

I don’t even want to call him a doctor. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. I am the type of person who only goes to the doctor as a last resort. He was very insulting rude and unprofessional. I have nothing good to say about him. He diagnoses everyone with irritable bowel syndrome when he can’t figure out your problem. He seems to be more interested in doing expensive procedures without any follow up care. I am very annoyed that I had to pay for this kind of abuse. He deserves a no star rating.

Gave me routine colonoscopy Almost died

I had both a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. I was more concerned with the colonoscopy which was a piece of cake. The endoscopy... not so much. I ended up in the hospital. Dr. Romano forgot to inform me that I had aspirated during the procedure. After many tests, the radiologist decided that my esophagus was torn during the original procedure . They could be certain only if I had another endoscopy and that wasn’t going to happen. I won’t be seeing dr. Romano but I plan on returning to the office but seeing his partner Dr. Gosselin.

My mother has struggled with alcoholism most of her life. She was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and became very ill in 2016. Dr. Romano treated her during this time and finally she started to feel better. My mother did the best she could to deal with her addiction and did not consume alcohol for over 2 years. Recently she had gone through a considerable amount of stress and unfortunately relapsed. She was honest with Dr. Romano and told him that she had one drink a few weeks prior and he dropped her as a patient on the spot. He told her he didn't want to see her anymore because she was drinking again. Because my mother was honest with him and told him she made a mistake, he gave up on her when she needed help the most. Now during an already stressful time, my mother has to find a new doctor and start the entire process over again. In my opinion, this is not how a doctor should treat their patient. I am hopeful that this will create the opportunity for us to find a doctor who… actually cares about their patients.

First visit was with NP and she was great. Scheduled endoscopy and colonoscopy. Had procedures done without issue. Diagnosed with Gastritis. I was given no direction on how to treat Gastritis and no info on how to remedy my pain. Had to wait 3 months for follow up visit. Finally my apt came and Dr Ramano was terrible!! Asked me why I was there and I said I need to know how to get control of my Gastritis. He said how do you know you have. I said because you scoped me and diagnosed me with it. He said Gastritis doesn’t last that long you have IBS. Never examined me, never asked questions, never read my chart. I said I don’t think so however how do you treat IBS and he said there was nothing I could do I will see ya in 6 months. Borderline incompetent!! Arrogant, condescending, no beside manner, no real professional medical advise. Labeled me and sent me on my way.

Dr. Romano is extremely condescending and does not have any bedside manner. Did not look at my mother's chart, or even examine her, before he came up with a diagnosis of IBS (which, by the way, she does not have). I would think long and hard about ever going to see him, or even those in his practice (since his son, who happens to be a PA, is just like him: The apple certainly does not fall far from the tree with this one). Run as fast as you can if your doctor happens to recommend this practice.

No beside manner and treated me like I was nothing. Was nasty and not helpful at all

Awful, run away. Condescending and egotistical with zero advocacy for patient. Took emergency room visit and two days in hospital to figure out what he couldn't in four months of agony.
