Dr. Thomas James Romano, MD

Dr. Romano is the BEST doctor I have ever seen. I was looking for a good pain management doctor because I was in a very bad car accident that really messed me up. I was hesitant to go to him at first because he is a fee for service doctor. He doesn't work with insurance companies at all and I didn't know why. Well, after becoming his patient, now I know why! My first visit with him was about 2 1/2 hours, which included going through my medical history with me and asking a lot of questions that would help him treat me effectively. After a drug screen, there was a very good and long comprehensive physical exam. It's been a LONG time since a doctor actually gave me a physical, talked with me, listened to me and made me feel like a person, not a number. I got a couple injections that first visit and I felt much, much better! After the physical was over, he took the time to explain what was wrong with me and made sure I understood. Then he explained what he was going to do for treatment. He… also explained everything I needed to know about the medications he put me on. I was happily amazed at how much information I got from him and I understood why his initial appointment fee is what it is. No other doctor found all the problems I had and no other doctor got me feeling better before leaving the office. He gave me prescriptions for medications that have been helping me ever since that first appointment 8 years ago . Monthly visits are just as great as that first appointment. I never have to wait more than a few minutes and he spends enough time needed with me and he answers all my questions when I have them. Even if I had to wait long, I wouldn't mind it, because he spends as much time as he needs with everyone. I really hope that he never retires because he got me my life back! And I mean that. I was in real bad shape before I went to him. I always have a good time going to his office. His staff is extremely nice and welcoming and they also care. If Dr. Romano dealt with insurance, he wouldn't be able to give me or his other patients the same quality of care, or spend as much time with any of us. You know, one day the woman that was ahead of me limped in to the office wearing a knee brace and when she came back out she was walking without the limp and she was carrying the knee brace. I was shocked! Dr. Romano is brilliant and one of a kind. Even though he is a really funny guy and makes you feel comfortable, he takes his profession and position very seriously and he will protect all his patients from people trying to come in that don't belong there. I HIGHLY recommend him if you seriously need a rheumatologist or pain management specialist. You will feel so much better!
