Per Roxanna, this office's operating model is whichever dentist is available at that moment will see you and thus bill you, regardless of your insurance coverage. For example, you get a cleaning by a hygienist and then she grabs the available dentist to do the exam. If that dentist happens to be out of network for your insurance, too bad, you get an unexpected bill. This exact scenario happened to my grandmother. She and I both tried working with Roxanna and Dr. Tom to resolve it, but ultimately they just discounted her balance due and said the remainder would be sent to collections if she didn't pay it. My grandmother is in her late 80s and on a very fixed income, so this billing issue and fight has been very stressful for her, not to mention a notable financial burden. Her cleaning should have been fully covered and thus $0, because she is network for one dentist, yet the hygienist grabbed the other dentist, who… then did a quick exam and that resulted in a surprise $200 bill. Do yourself a favor and find an ethical and professional dentist who actually cares about their patients, rather than chases a dollar.
