Dr. Thomas August Sames, MD

I’m on Medicaid and finding a PCP is difficult, much less a good one. My insurance referred me to Hill Side clinic on Bell. I saw a nurse practitioner, Cathy Powers who never did ANYTHING that she said she would, even my pharmacy had problems getting call backs and filling my prescriptions numerous times, I once went two weeks with out. My next appointment with Cathy Powers didn’t go well and they dropped me. (I was in the process of looking for a new PCP anyway and willing to go without my many prescriptions.) Then my insurance refers me to C&T clinic, again I see a nurse practitioner ‘Shelly Ray’ who also works under Dr. Sames and my insurance card says ‘Yarber’ again. And again, I never see any doctors at this clinic either. My first visit was with one of his nurse practitioners Shelly Ray. I loved her after my first visit, she SEEMED sincere, she was going to run tests that I needed and asked me which ones I wanted, I said I wasn’t sure, I don’t want… to chose the wrong one, she says, we will do both.(MRI). So I go home happy, hopeful and bragging to my mom about her. My next appointment I saw Mandy, a nurse, unsure, I had my mom with me (they didn’t respond good to that, I figure it put a kink in her plan to manipulate me) I would not sign a paper that gives my permission to allow for another ghost doctor to get me to take a psychiatric medication, I continued to refuse....In comes Shelly Ray, so different, rude to my mom, but she told me the medication was a treatment for my physical medical condition. I reminded her that any type of psychiatric and other medication groups were causing me Anaphylaxis and Anaphylactic shock. She cringed her face. I signed the paper when she said it was for the medical issue I was suffering from. That evening, before taking the medication I remember her facial expression and my good strong intuition waving red flags, so I only took a quarter of the pill and it caused mild anaphylactic symptoms. She out right lied, the medication in no way was to treat my medical issue that I went to see her for! It was one of the medication groups that I reminded her I could not take, it’s on my chart. She took a chance on my life, I checked, and she never contacted my insurance regarding the MRI’s that she promised me, and would not respond to any of my calls or return with a message, she wouldn’t even respond to my pharmacy, the pharmacy complained to me and were frustrated. She/he went so far as to erase my medical records!! I’m guessing they know how badly they messed up and were attempting to cover his a*@‘s. I go close to two weeks without important medications, then they decide that they would fill one with a qty of six (normally a 60 qty medication).......for some reason they changed their minds and called them all in. I wanted nothing to do with the contract that I was pretty much forced to sign, so they dropped me right before I was going to drop him/them. There is a lot more to my experiences with Dr. Sames’s clinic(s), just to complicated and much typing. Little did they know I was on a waiting list to see a five star internal physician and It was time for me to change my PCP with my insurance. One visit with the new physician and extremely nice medical complex, and a full in depth thorough exam and the time spent with me, and listened and was so professional and cared.......Reminded or showed me just how bad Dr. Sames’s clinics are! As one reviewer wrote only two words....”Dr. Death” which was perfect and made me laugh also.??. My name for him is ‘Ghost Doctor’. Never saw him, he wasn’t even in the building. Avoid the two clinics that I identified above, and any nurse practitioner under Sames or Yarber! Mexico would be better!

They do not listen to their patients. Iam a chronic insomniac, and they gave me a rx for a low dose sleep aide for 15 pills that cost me 70 dollars. But if there was a pellet for it i bet that is what I would of got. Don't do it.

Recently met Dr Sames. He took time and cared for me. Explained and listened to my concerns and helped me get home!! Wonderful doctor.

Dr Sames too care of my mom after she has surgery. She was in a lot of pain and he did a lot to help her get through that. I don’t think she would have been able to do therapy with out his help. His nurse was a delight to see every day!! Overall above and beyond!!!
