Thomas Sandora, MD, MPH

Dr. Thomas Sandora, MD, MPH, is a senior physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Boston Children’s Hospital, where he also serves as Hospital Epidemiologist and Medical Director of Infection Control, as well as a professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. Board certified in both general pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases, he specializes in healthcare-associated infections, infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, and pediatric infectious diseases. Dr. Sandora earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his residency, chief residency, infectious diseases fellowship, and Master of Public Health training through Boston Children’s Hospital and the Harvard School of Public Health. Internationally recognized for his leadership in infection control and patient safety, he has authored numerous influential publications on hospital epidemiology, hand hygiene, Clostridioides difficile infection, and quality improvement, …and is widely respected for advancing evidence-based strategies to improve pediatric healthcare safety and outcomes.
