Dr. Thomas Dean Scholz, MD

Dr. Scholz helped save my daughter's life 23 years ago. He went through 2 heart surgeries with us and many difficult times. Some my daughter should not have lived through and he got her through. He was our Dr for 20 years until we were switched. He is honest, polite, kind, and compassionate with both parents and child. He has a wonderful bedside manner. Frankly, we miss him dearly and I always felt I could trust him to give us the most accurate, best advice for our situation even when it wasn't what I wanted to hear. We are fortunate to have had him for all the years we did and would take him back as our dr in a heartbeat! My daughter still talks about how wonderful Dr. Scholz is.

I don't recommend this doctor if he is one you have to see along with a pediatric endocrinologist for childhood obesity consult. I have dealt with my child's obesity for more than a decade and no doctors have done proper testing to find the cause. He will say: "calories in, calories out." Basically he is telling you your child eats way too much and is lazy. My other child went to the appointment for him to tell me that child has weight problems too because that child eats too many calories. The appointment wasn't even for that child, so he should have not said anything. I traveled out of town and waited more that 3 months to get in there for him to say: "calories in, calories out. " And my child never did see the endocrinologist they were suppose to only because he said he talked to my child's previous doctor who did nothing as well. And he made sure to tell me all the labs came back normal when he didn't even receive them. There are several reasons for childhood obesity that none of… these arrogant doctors test for. Tumors, problems with pituitary hormone, thyroid, growth disorders, just to name a few. I mentioned some of these and he said no. It is no wonder many people have to read up on diseases because doctors like this do nothing. There are private labs where you can order your own labs without their approval; but you shouldn't have to do that since you have insurance. Needless to say, I wouldn't even give him one star, but you have to rate it for this site.
