Thomas J Selva, MD

I actually went to Dr. Selva as a child and he is the reason I went into medicine. He is an amazing physician. My mother was in healthcare as well and he didn't hesitate to ask her her opinion, not just because of her medical background but also because he knew that mother's know their children best. As I grew, he did grow with me and I refused to have a primary care doctor until I was almost 21. When I learned to speak Spanish in school, he would speak spanish to me, when I learned to play the flute he would ask me about learning to play. I always felt comfortable around him and loved going to the doctor. How many kids can say that? You could not ask for a better doctor. I can only hope when I have children that he will be their Pediatrician.

I wish Dr. Selva grew with us -- became a gynecologist and internist as my children grew into teenager and young adults. I miss his easy smile, and reassuring way of giving a diagnosis and the med (or in some cases no med! just rest) to cure. He has many times talked with me over my concerns, and sent us to specialists as needed. I cannot say enough positive things about him. He is a treasure to the University, and families.

If we has to wait three hours to see Tom Selva would be worth it!!!! You don't have to wait that long obviously,but he is quite simply THE BEST PEDIATRICIAN in Columbia. Loveliest, kindest, and most caring doctor I have ever had the pleasure of seeing.
