Dr. Thomas Kevin Sweeney, MD

I would not suggest this Nurse Practitioner to anyone. I have fought to find ways back to good health for the past five years and was hopeful when I made it to Loma Linda. Only to be stuck with a guy who will tell you, "It's all in your head" when you tell him your legs hurt. Or that you're lying when you show photos you've taken of YOUR OWN REACTIONS TO MEDICATIONS. I cannot believe this guy is practicing on anyone. I wouldn't take my worst enemy there. You've failed me and I'm sure you've failed others. And by the way, my A1C improved 3 months after I left your care. Tests don't lie.

I NEVER write Doctors reviews, or reviews period, but have had such a horrible experience here I felt I had too. From the front desk to the doctor himself, everyone seems like they have no idea what they are talking about. I originally started seeing Doctor Sweeney because I was unhappy with my other provider. During some initial assessment, I took an EKG. Some months later, I went back and they suggested I should take an EKG. I told them I thought I already had that test, they checked their records, said I didn't and scheduled me. When I took the EKG a second time, I said it looked very familiar and could they check again and poof! there was the record of the previous EKG. The doctor never seems to remember when I come in, which is understandable, but also seems to not read notes, or take them. I always have to tell HIM about what we discussed last time. The front desk is also terrible - they scheduled me for testing at Martha Jefferson, but told me to go to UVA. I missed my… appointment. I will be finding another PCP immediately.

Doctor Sweeney listened carefully to my story of the development of my infection, asking questions along the way, and prescribed an antibiotic which worked without side effects, after the one they gave me in the ER proved intolerable. He and his now-retired colleague have been my docs for over two decades now.

Dr Sweeny should retire. Most incompetent doctor I have encountered. I am a business man living in many different states over past 40 years and Sweeny is the most arrogant demeaning doctor I have ever seen. Only in it for the easy money and not really invested in the practice. Shameful to his group.

My family really enjoys having Dr Sweeney for our PCP. He always takes the time to thoroughly explain what is happening and why, gives a thorough exam, and has taken the time to really get to know us. When I had some scary problems going on with my heart, he got me an immediate appt with a reputable cardiologist an even called me to make sure I was "ok"! Love him!

I have been seeing Dr. Sweeney for 15 years and have always found him to be very attentive and caring. He always takes the time to listen to my questions and give me common sense answers or refer me to the proper expert if necessary. Very happy with his services

Great PCP.

This guy does not know how to treat patients so he just blames the patient. He tries to tell you that the pain is all in your head.
