Dr. Thomas Boynton Tucker, MD

Dr. Tucker was my father’s oncologist, treating him for esophageal cancer. My father had complications and Dr. Tucker intervened in his inadequate treatment situation only after being contacted by family multiple times. Dr. Tucker also failed to contact my father three to four weeks after he said he would be in touch regarding the possibility of immunotherapy. My father suffered needlessly for three+ weeks, waiting on word from Dr. Tucker, receiving no treatment for his pain, until finally (after being pressed again by family) Dr. Tucker let my father know immunotherapy was not an option. He also talked to my father about my father’s wishes for treatment/end of life wishes without my mother being present. Everything about his care of my father was not only unsatisfactory but in certain respects was also unethical. I’m still astonished by how poorly Dr. Tucker managed my father’s situation. I understand he has retired recently and all I can say is that this is a good thing for cancer… patients.

I as exceedingly blessed when I was assigned to Dr. Tucker. He walked me through what would be happening. I won't say it was a pleasurable experience, but I always looked forward to seeing him. When I moved. He had office hrs so I could continue under his care,but now that I am not in the Greater Wenatchee area I have had to change doctors. Dr. Tucker gave me the name of another Oncologist to continue my care I am still in contact with him and would give him 10 stars if it was possible.

I saw Dr. Tucker several times while he was in Texas. Began trying to set up another appt but, finally, found him in Washington :-( ! A little too far to travel for an iron infusion but I thought about it for a second or two! Very nice man, wonderful physician. I'm going to really miss him!
