Thomas Vader, MD, has administered 35,000 anesthetics at Whidbey General Hospital during the past 35 years. He is part of a team that is on call 24/7 to care for trauma victims and serves on the Trauma Committee, which evaluates our trauma care for quality and completeness. The founder and co-owner of Penn Cove Anesthesia, Dr. Vader was the first specialist on the island and is one of the longest-tenured members of our medical staff, which he helped establish in 1977. He helped found the hospitals Emergency Medical Services and trained its first paramedics. He was also a founding member and first treasurer of the Whidbey General Hospital Foundation.
