Dr. Thomas Arthur Vangeem, MD

I’ve have 3 children and my oldest daughter is pregnant with her third right now. My middle child is pregnant with her second right now and NOT seeing Dr Van Geem! He was her Dr for her first child. He knew the entire pregnancy that the baby was very large and my daughter is tiny.she 5’7” and a size 0. During her labor he. Refused to come in the room. The nurses got to the point of yelling out the door,”Get Dr. Van Geem in here now”. But he refused. The baby was too big for my daughter. There was blood everywhere because she was tearing so deep and high. The nurses were visibly scared and made me put my phone away. Talk about CYA! When he finally came in he took one look and made them put the epidural back on after asking,”Why is her epidural off”? The nurses explained that they had to because she couldn’t push hard enough. He yelled across the room for the nurse to come close and be ready. He had my daughter pushtwice while he used forecepts and practically threw the babies at the… nurse standing in wait behind and to the side of him. He immediately grabbed a good amount of gauze and began attempting to sop up what was inside her. He was trying to assess the damage and he began stitching her so far up the tool to hold the sutures was going on about 8 inches. To sum it up, the baby’s size was way too big for her and he did care. She has to stay in the hospital 4 days because her vagina was so damaged. It was so bad we were told that even the nurses winced at the sound of my daughter’s name. This could’ve all been avoided but he cares more about his reputation for having such a low c-section rate than about the health and well being of his patients. He is a horrible on-gyn!!!!!! All he had to do was induce her a couple weeks early…he knew the baby was huge and healthy enough! DO NOT GO TO THIS DR!!!!!!

I have to thank this man for the birth of my son! After 5 miscarriages Dr. Vangeem didn’t give up and helped me throughout my journey. Thankfully I had a healthy baby boy. He is very patient, fast, & will make you feel very comfortable! He also delivered my niece who was born at 25 weeks. Best OB out there. He delivered all my sisters babies, cousins babies and my son. Highly recommend him!

I have been going to Dr Van Geem for 12 yrs. He is a wonderful doctor, caring and very direct. I have read some of the other reviews and I'm totally shocked at the strong negative comments. He delivered my two children and I have had surgery with him too. Dr Van Geem is an awesome doctor.

This doctor saved me from having a c section. My daughter had become stuck and he had to vac her out. If he hadn't done that . I would have had a c section done. He was very fast at getting her out safely. I wouldn't have chosen anyone else for my doc! The follow up was great. He was right by my side the whole time . I have read reviews that aren't so great about Dr. VanGeem . I tell you this. They are false. No doctor is perfect and for society to expect perfection is rediculous . Realistically we know things can go wrong during surgery . So for some to expect your doc to be God is unbelievable . You told upfront that complications can occur. Don't act surprised when they do. Don't punish our doctors becuz bad eggs want free money! Your not entitled to it

I would NOT recommend this Dr! He's always in a rush and I can't recall even spending 5 min with him in the room. I'm due with my first baby in less than 3 weeks and have so many unanswered questions. Very disappointing!!!

Trust your instincts when meeting this doctor then run. Remember reviews can be helpful but also remember that even doctors like any other business can have people they know write great reviews for them so people will go to them. I went to this doctor and had to go to another doctor because this guy van geem not only botched my surgery but left me with permanent damage. It looks like I'm not the only one either. When reading a review if a doctor is leaving people with damages then that should tell you something. Try to contact those people if possible and I bet they would have no problem pulling out their medical files to show you the truth what a doctor did to them . You could also physically see thier damages too I'm sure. You can see my damages and I feel pain everyday since dr van geem . If I only knew then what I know now I would have never set foot in his office

Dr Van Geem is a wonderful doctor ! He has delivered all 3 of my children and I have had surgery by him also. He is caring and a very trust worthy person I would not think of going to anyone else. I'm very shocked by the last reviewers comments and ratings. I totally disagree ! Great Doctor !

Please don't ever have this man do a surgery on you . He has butchered several people including myself. If I had only known this before my own surgery I would have never allowed him to do any kind of surgery on me. My surgery was supposed to be a simple procedure as an outpatient procedure as well. this man tore apart my insides and I had to have several corrective surgeries . I am ruined for life I will never be the same again and he takes no responsibility in his actions. My medical bills are almost a million dollars now trying to the damage he cause fixed. I will always have medical issues now from this doctor for the rest of my life . He could care less that all of the medical bills that he caused me to have from what he did are coming out of my pocket not his and the was no compensation for it and he refuses to help with it. please please please anyone who reads this do not go to this doctor and definitely do not have him do a surgery on you .I found three other people who also… have suffered under the knife form this doctor and they to can not fix the damage he caused them .

maybe is a good doctor but he explain nothing about the patients condition, do not spend any time with them, is completely impersonal as he dont care
