Very good experience. Seen this doc after having prior heart surgery at U of M. At my visit, he must have studied my records for some time because he brought up things I wasn't even told about that happened during my heart surgery 8 years ago. Would definitely recommend

Pleasant, knowledgeable and compassionate. During a recent hospitalization he was persistent in figuring out the diagnosis. In a follow up office visit, he went above and beyond to answer all my questions and helped to calm me down. Highly recommend him.

Dr. Vanhecke is a very caring doctor. He's intelligent, insightful, and very attentive to his patients. He's a great educator, spending time informing the patient about what is happening with his/her heart. My husband and I both have a lot of confidence in him.

I neede d to have a knee surgery, the surgeon required evaluation with a heart doctor because I had a blockage on my ECG. I knew I had something wrong my ECG from years ago. I was very scared that I was heading for a heart cath. My granddaughter who works at the hospital gave me the name of this doctor. When I called to make the appointment, he was able to see me within two days. This doctor explained it was a common electrical block not a blood vessel block. He took pictures of my heart right there with this tiny ultrasound machine. I left that visit with a clearance letter in my hand, on the way home, my knee surgeon's office was calling me to schedule. This heart doctor even went the extra mile to notify them I was cleared. This is how doctor office are supposed to work. from the time that walked in to the office, I felt like I was treated as if I was someone important. Dr Vanhecke has been on my health team for years. His personal relationship with me as a heart patient and my wife as my health partner has been very, very warm and careing. He Will use hie "white board" in the your visiting room to explain just what the problems we are solving/working on. His way of explaining what is going on in your body is exceptionally easy to follow not being a medical person. He takes all the time my wife and I need to have all of our questions answered. I feel very fortunate to have Dr. Vanhecke on my health team!! He is just a "very" plesant personality. He is highly respected by doctors in his field and is always spoken about as a leader his speciality.

When every other doctor I've seen got it wrong, Dr VanHecke got it right. He more than likely saved my life.

This doctor treated my mother while in intesive care following a surgery that was botched. My mother developed an acute cardiac rhthym and fortunately the nurses on the cardiac floor paged him and he used medicine to stabilize her. following this, I saw him everyday and he was more involved than the surgeons who were responsibile. Some mornings I was unable to be there, without asking he called my cell phone and gave daily updates. Unfortunately, she passed away, but my family is very grateful

The ER visit was annoying, after being addmitted, this doctor was okay

This doctor saw me after an ER visit following a complication i had from a surgery. this docotr helped them get me released from the ER without waiting for them to admit me and was able to see me in the clinic the next day
