Dr. Thomas C. Waldrop, DDS, MS, Diplomate ABP, is an associate Professor in the Department of Periodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Dentistry. He received his DDS from Virginia Commonwealth University and his MS and specialty training in periodontics from the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston, Texas, and Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB, Texas, respectively.
Dr. Waldrop is Board Certified and a Director of the American Board of Periodontology. He is Director of Graduate Periodontics and the Postdoctoral Periodontal Dental Clinic at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dr. Waldrop has lectured extensively and is nationally recognized for his clinical expertise and dental research. He maintains and active private practice in periodontics. His practice is focused on the surgical and non-surgical treatment of periodontal diseases; periodontal plastic surgery including the …elimination of excessive gingival tissues and root coverage procedures; repair of lost bone around teeth to include bone grafting procedures; orthodontic procedures including implants for orthodontic movement, impacted tooth exposure, elimination of frenum and gingival grafting; laser surgery; bone grafting including sinus and defective alveolar ridge augmentation for the placement of dental implants; placement of dental implants for single, multiple or total tooth loss; anxiety control utilizing oral, nitrous oxide or intravenous conscious sedation.
