Thomas A. Waters, MD, joined the Cleveland Clinic in 1997 after completing his residency in Emergency Medicine at Metrohealth Medical Center. Shortly after his arrival, he helped pioneer the development of Event Medicine at Cleveland Clinic, helping to innovate the way spectators and guests at all the major venues in Cleveland are cared for. His areas of interest include event medicine, wilderness medicine and environmental emergencies with a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of heat emergencies and hypothermia. Dr. Waters has authored and co-authored several chapters in textbooks of Emergency Medicine and has recently been appointed to be an Oral Board Examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
