Dr. Thomas M. Wiley, MD

This doctor is obsessed with the weight of pregnant women. As someone who has always been underweight, I never worried about gaining extra pounds during pregnancy until I met Wiley. I was told to watch what I eat and restrict calories even though I was eating perfectly healthy (and eating too little according to my husband). Wiley made me very self-conscious and uncomfortable throughout my pregnancy. Towards the end of pregnancy I developed choleostasis that Wiley would have never diagnosed had I not insisted on testing based on my symptoms. Wiley even wrote in his notes for the blood test that he doubts that I have the condition. He was wrong, and I was suggested to be induced. The induction was the most terrifying experience of my life. I was not allowed to eat for over 48 hours and I was without pain relief medication for about 24 hours on and off. When Wiley finally agreed to give me pain relief after I was writhing in pain, the first anesthesiologist could not make the epidural… work after four attempts. On top of that, he put me on far too high of a dosage (as confirmed by the second anesthesiologist who successfully administered anesthetics). Induction still was not successful 45 hours later and I was so out of it because of the pain and exhaustion. Meanwhile my husband kept asking for a c-cection to be performed. Wiley declined until the very last hours, and subsequently the procedure was performed by a different doctor five minutes after Wiley went off duty for the day. During multiple appointments prior to labor I explained to Wiley that I was perfectly open to a c-section if it was the best procedure for me and my baby. Wiley recurringly laughed at me during induction and was either enjoying my pain or is just extremely socially awkward due to nervousness. Probably the latter, which during appointments caused him to make inappropriate comments that are too gross to repeat publicly. Most of the labor nurses were excellent, but to the nurse who was bothered to bring me water after the induction / c-cection and asked me in an annoyed tone "do I always drink that much water," you should not be working in a hospital if assisting the patient is so burdensome.

I'm 24 and have been dealing with intense and irregular periods, since my periods started. Also fertility issues. He is the first doctor to ever take me seriously. I can't recommend him enough.

Have been going to see him yearly for follow up since 2016 and is very good. He is very good at explaining what my options are when it comes to surgery intervention.

I came to Dr. Wiley because I wanted a final solution to my period. I asked about an ablation because I did not think I could get a hysterectomy at 30 without kids. However, I told Dr. Wiley my medical history, that I am Non-binary and how terrible periods are for my mental health outside of the pain, and my increase stroke risk taking oral b/c which I was taking since I couldn’t handle having a period. Dr. Wiley spoke to me about all the various options including things I didn’t know about. He was extremely helpful, very kind, careful, and respectful. He was one of the best doctors I have ever had and I truly felt heard and safe. Something that is hard to find in this area of the country for people falling under the trans umbrella.

I completely adore Dr. Wiley. He is very patient and understanding. He is always willing to listen and has an amazing bedside manner. I trust him with my life. And would recommend him to everyone. I always tell the women i know to go to him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Wiley's for about nine years now. He delivered two of my children cesarean and also recently performed one other small surgery. I trust him with my life. He has always gone above and beyond with me. Taking a lot of time out of his day to answer all of my questions and do his very best to get everything taken care of is one of the reasons I think he is such an amazing doctor. He also has a shining sense of humor that helps lighten scary situations! I am ecstatic to be a patient of his and recommend him to all of the other women in my life. You could not ask for more in a doctor!

Dr Wiley Is an amazing Dr. He is a good person who listens to his patient and has great bedside manor. He has been my Dr. since I was 18 and I am now 42. He has performed surgery's and delivered my child. I trust him with my life! I have sent my entire female side of my family to him and they all feel like I do! We appreciate his knowledge care and abilities.
