Dr. Thomas Craig Winegarden, MD

If I could give a negative rating this place would get -5 stars. I have been taking a client here for the last two years (not by my choice, guardian insists). Heed the warnings of all the bad reviews! They are all true. From picking his fingernails during your appointment to dehumanizing clients, and then flipping to his way of thinking when called out on it. I am constantly having to advocate for my client to not be over-medicated. They are NEVER on time, most of the time hours behind. They will NEVER call you to let you know and ask if you would like to reschedule, they won't even tell you when you check in that they are behind. Receptionists are rude and treat you like it is no big deal that you have to wait hours, or that it is your fault even though we are 5 min early to our appointment, and will scoff at you if you don't want to wait and want to reschedule. I use other providers with other clients that are 1000 times more professional than this place (treat you well, and are… always within 15 min of your appointment time). Choose wisely, go some where else.

This bloated egotistic "doctor" would rather write prescriptions than actually be a diagnostic psychiatrist. His discounting of my side effects from the drug he prescribed was rude and unprofessional. Stay away from this person, seek out a doctor that is competent and compassionate

I was referred to Dr. Winegarden by a close friend and upon meeting with him, he literally did nothing. I'm talking absolutely nothing. He sat there and spoke with me about my career (which he was very interested in), which had absolutely ZERO to do with why I was seeing him. His misdiagnosis of me was sickening and I immediately sought a second opinion, which totally verified my initial thoughts. The guy literally just wanted to sit there and talk about life as if it were happy hour as opposed to doing anything to make an initial diagnosis. Needless to say, it only took one time for me to visit him to not only never refill the medicine he prescribed me, but to then have a second doctor completely dumbfounded with his diagnosis and recommendation. Do not waste your time or money.

He has always been SO good to me, he makes sure i talk about all i needed to. i am so happy he is on my team!

Stay away from this man. I was in a hospital on a 72 hour hold and he was the doctor assigned to me. The day after I was admitted I was already fairly lucid and noticed a lot of strange things. My dad visited me and I told the doctor it went well. He said, "So he's not evil anymore?" I said, "Did I SAY he was evil?" I knew I hadn't. His response was, "Well don't ALL daughters think their fathers are evil? My daughters..." and he trailed off. My dad even noted that he was in a ratty tshirt and jeans instead of anything resembling work clothes. There was another patient who roamed around singing to herself, "Dr. Winegarden lies! Dr. Winegarden lies!" and I knew this guy was weird. Later I spoke to another patient who told me he regularly messes with the minds of his patients. He wouldn't let a girl leave unless she agreed to let him be her doctor once she was released. He was supposed to see me to assess when I could leave and he walked right past me, gave me a strange look and went… home. I needed to leave for fear of losing my job and had been lucid for days so I asked if someone else could see me. When he found out he told the staff that if I saw someone else he would put me on another 72 hour hold. I talked to the staff who were also confused why I was still there and said if I wasn't seen the next day I would raise holy h-e-l-l. The next morning I was released. Worst experience with a doctor I've ever had.

Dr. Winegarten saved me from myself. He is a great listener and I am happy I found him. I was inpatient at that time so maybe I was lucky. I still see him on the outside.

I have NEVER seen anybody so self centered and with such a massive ego! He is only interested in what else he can cram in his mouth rather than what you have to say.Always have to wait 2+hrs.only to be treated like a second class citizen.Why is he in mental health? Clearly a Dr. that should have retired years ago!

Was always running late. I even booked my appointment so I was his first patient, he was still an hour late getting to the clinic.

He is a Very Understanding Compassionate Doctor. He was my Doctor in the Hospital and is Currently my Doctor. He is really down to earth and Cares about his Patients. I wouldn't trade him...
