Dr. Thomas M Zeni, DDS

I was told to pay in advanced for a surgery procedure with Dr Thomas Zeni. $3050 to be exact. I was promised that I was going to receive a check within a month from my insurance. Front desk assured me that Aetna my insurance approved the procedure. I trusted Great Smile Dentistry and Dr Zeni, so I used my credit card. Now I'm $3050 in debt. My insurance told me that they never gave any authorization code to approved the procedure as Great smile dentistry said. I mailed a letter asking Great smile to refund the money and start me in a payment plan but was ignored. I asked them to give me the authorization code that they said they had from the insurance, but they don't have any. Never pay in advance in this office, they lie to get a quick profit. They don’t think about the damage they can cause to families, practicing this kind of deceitful actions. Families have bills to pay and work very hard to do it every month. For Great Smile Dentistry of Escanaba MI and Dr Zeni, it was very… simple to tell me “sorry, you have do deal with the problem with the insurance” We already got our money, you figure it out. When they didn’t even request an authorization code from the beginning. They assumed, my surgery was approved, they never confirm it with the insurance company as they told me. I trusted them, and now I’m paying a huge price for that. If I knew this information before surgery, I wouldn’t have accept it. $3050 in debt, A very hard lesson to learn.
