Dr. Tiffany Perry, MD

Awful bedside manner and does not spend time getting to know the patient. I’ve seen her several times and the visits have all been short, curt and unhelpful. She seems to want to be anywhere but there with you. Visits are awkward and she seems to struggle to know what to say to you unless you lead the discussion. Even then, answers are short and awkward. Do not recommend Dr. Perry as your OB if you require any kind of complex care.

I went into the office for the first time to seek advice after having preeclampsia with my first child. By the end of my visit, Dr. Perry diagnosed me with second infertility and recommended blood work and a HSG test but didn’t inform me that women’s infertility labs and test weren’t covered and are excluded by most insurance. Please don’t make the mistake I made by not confirming with your insurance if your tests/lab work will be covered first. I received a few hefty labcorp bills over $2K. To my surprise the John Muir Orinda location has 1 Star reviews due to similar situations.

While I do not doubt that Dr. Perry is smart and capable, it was definitely not a good fit. The power imbalance that is already inevitable in a doctor/patient relationship was bolstered by her approach to care. I booked for a specific procedure recommended by my PCP. Dr. Perry told me there was no need to have the procedure based solely on an algorithm that only accounts for one risk factor. She did not give me the opportunity to explain I have other risk factors that serve as an impetus for the kind of test I wanted performed. She additionally invalidated the expertise of my PCP who recommended the test in the first place. I am glad I had a patient advocate with me as I felt like she was very dismissive of my concern and treated me as though I were naïve and uneducated. I expect an open dialogue between myself and my physician so I will be seeking care elsewhere. Hopefully her approach feels comfortable for some people.

I had a bad case of Scoliosis. I was always leaning to my left. I could not stand up straight. I felt very comfortable after meeting Dr. Perry, and felt I had made the right choice for the doctor to fix my condition. That is just what she did. It was a nine hour surgery and I am healing well. I now stand straight. Dr.Perry is a very capable and caring neurosurgeon.

She had no interest In hearing what I had to say. Right away when I said I had bulging disks she freaked out. I had MRIs from years of scans but she didn't want to hear about it. Her opinion was my spine was beautiful. Even though the scans showed years of degeneration. And I know what I was feeling was not normal. She didn't want to hear it. I didn't even get to tell hear about my hand going numb because she was the expert. She actually even told me she was. And I could not have anything wrong with me because my spine was beautiful according to her. Well I'm scheduled to have a C5-C6 fusion which was suggested by 2 surgeons I saw after I saw her. I was told if I wait it would get worse. And I will probably need more fusion in my future.
