Dr. Tiffany Tse Yu, MD

I am extremely disappointed in Dr. Yu's refusal to account for my medical history in her billing. Despite being a high-risk patient with an extensive family history of breast cancer, and has undergone routine screenings since I was 25, I was billed $528 for a 'diagnostic' ultrasound that took no more than 5 minutes (and was performed by a nurse). After I submitted my amendment request, the office justified this by saying I was 'scheduled in a diagnostic slot' and noted my current 'lumps.' However, as a high-risk patient who has had said 'lumps' for 3 years, these assessments are part of my regular preventative care. My insurance provider even suggested I reach out to the doctor to amend the code due to my complex history. It is disheartening to see a provider refuse to add 'high-risk' to a claim when it would have significantly reduced the financial burden on a patient who is simply trying to stay on top of their health.
